Would make more sense if youd explain why , and post screenshots. Yet again those are not rules just suggestions to make this thread interesting .

I have a trinket for you: War Gods.

Yeah this treasure of a fighting game was made by the same people that made MK. That's right, it had fatalities, combos, blood, gore, all that great shit.

Only problem? All of the above. They practically wasted their capital on this game when they coulda put more effort into MK4.

In short, it was terrible. Play it for yourselves.

Alright for actual bad fighting games Windy x Windam is one example. Izuna's the only reason people even bother with the game.

and a thread like this one doesnt have a sense without Rise of the Robots.

And sure..the MK games are in the most part 1-2 leagues below SF, Capcom, SNK, Namco, Sega fighting games but they are still many leagues above many many other fighting games.

you re wrong. the MK Team wasnt responsible for War Gods. It was made by another division /development Team from Midway in 1995/released for consoles in 1996. The same Team created B.I.O.F.R.E.A.K.S 2 Years later btw which could have been the first part of a great series. It was much more innovative as MK4 which was released in 1997 for arcades and got consoleports in 1998.

For the record, the 'freakin blatant ripoffs of MK' such as Tattoo Assassins and Survival Arts I enjoyed loads more than Mortal Kombat itself

Now with that said, BloodStorm is seriously fucking horrible to the point where it's not even laughably bad

Nah, he made the vid mostly over general consensus, rounding up fighters he thought were just not decent. Though technically, he should've just had the really bad ones, because I can't imagine why anyone would think Tuff E Nuff was horrid. :/

After watching theswitcher's video, I'm not sure about Battle Blaze, Power Moves/Deadly Moves, Violence Fight, Cosmic Carnage, Tuff E Nuff, Tattoo Assassins, Double Dragon V, Street Fighter: The Movie (Arcade) nor especially Survival Arts.

Several people in Japan (like the one who created this website about what he/she considers lesser-known, but good fighting games) know more about fighting games than most people in North America and elsewhere do, especially those who are like the author of this webpage. The games in the first link from left to right are:

FIRST ROW: Galactic Warriors, Ta•o Taido, Godzilla (SFC)

SECOND ROW: Battle K-Road, Blandia, Schmeiser Robo

THIRD ROW: Kaiser Knuckle/Global Champion, Perfect Soldiers/Superior Soldiers, Dragoon Might

FOURTH ROW: Gogetsuji Legends / Gouketsuji Gaiden: Saikyou Densetsu, Tōkidenshō Angel Eyes, DinoRex

FIFTH ROW: Burning Rival, Dark Edge, Dan-Ku-Ga

SIXTH ROW: Elan Doree - Legend of Dragoon, Asura Blade: Sword of Destiny, Big Fight: Big Trouble in the Atlantic Ocean (Although it's a beat 'em up, it has a fighting game-style VS. mode)

I hope the original Fighter's History will not appear in PART 2 of theswitcher's list of worst fighting games. Why? Read this, and according to Volume 134 (December 30, 1994) of GAMEST Magazine, Data East's largest complaint in court was about their 1984 arcade game Karate Champ being the earliest one that popularized the genre while causing others to imitate it, which is one of the things that caused Data East to win in court.

See also ScrewAttack's Top Ten Worst Fighting Games. Despite that, they kindly reviewed Pit Fighter.

Survival Arts was one of the earliest (if not, the earliest) modern-fighting games to feature weapons for players to pick up. It even has some stages with high jump-like features. I recently played this game, and it's not so bad. The gameplay seems okay. The worst part about the game is the final boss, Dantel, because he is so cheap, his most annoying move is his telekinesis throw, which allows him to grab and throw you from a distance.

BloodStorm is the sequel to the earliest Mortal Kombat imitator, Time Killers.

This Top Ten Death Moves list by Gamesmaster features some from BloodStorm.

My Mugen Wish List would include protagonists, mascots and other iconic characters with everything they have brought straight from their source with little or no editing.

- Street Fighter the movie (awfully choppy animation)
- Street Fighter III (SNES) a bootleg game of SFII where tatsumaki can't be dodged by crouching, and played on faster speed, and P2 get broken palette

Well, home32, since you asked, I'll deviate for a second and babble on about what I liked about SFIII:

1. Animation quality
2. Character designs
3. Music (new and original for Street Fighter, catchy as hell)
4. EX Moves

Parries = meh. Game's fine either way.

Now, on topic, as for a fighting game I DISLIKE? Kakuge Yarou (aka, where Tetsu came from and was mercifully un-shittified from)--sprite styles don't (seem to) match (to me, who is admittedly not a spriter), moves were not well animated, music was kind of bland, etc, etc.

Playing the "original mode" (in other words, the out of the box template they provide) is like getting kicked in the face by a donkey. Repeatedly.

But to stay on topic--another fighting game that really, REALLY blows? I'd have to say Ranma 1/2 Battle Renaissance for the PSX. I'll give it a little leeway on account of the fact that it was Ranma's first, and to date only, foray into 3D, but the overall feel of the thing was really...lacking. Sure, you had the classic moves and the likes for everybody, but there was no battle music, and the backgrounds were bland.

On the plus side, players finally got to sympathize with Ryouga whenever a geyser came by (don't ask how geysers came by as weather effects, they just DID).

Music is typical Capcom, I don't see what's so bad about it. They tried to go a different direction, which was hit or miss depending on tastes.
Slow pace? Higher frame rate made some animations slower. It's still hella faster than classic SF2, and I don't see people bashing it

Also, depends greatly on what character you're playing, if you choose a hulk, it will be slow

The characters? Man, that's f'd up. They're a lot better than any of the SF2ers. Their gameplay is varied, and their designs are different and colorful. Loved most of them (except maybe the non humans)
Super Arts? It was means of balancing the game, and it gave variety to the game as well. You could base an entire strategy around the Super Art picked! It was like playing a different character with each SA.

White Zombie deserves better. The funny thing is that when the music is slowed down, it seems like even the band is bored by the game.

I'd say for deciding whether a game can be called the worst ever, control would be the most important thing. For example, even though I'm personally not a fan of the Melty Blood character design and atmosphere of the game, it's far from being the worst game and since the control and animation are pretty good. Seeing Way of the Warrior's choppy animation just gives the impression that the game would be hard to play. And I remember the initial reviews of the game mentioning the difficulty of the control.

I'd have to say Wu-Tang: Shaoloin Style, the game was just horrible... (Any game based on a hip-hop group is bound to fail, or any real life person in general.)
The gamed slowed down most of the time when their were more than 2 characters (yes it had 4 player capabilities)
Controls were unresponsive, (Pushing all 4 buttons to activate the "rage style mode" was just a pain)
You couldn't jump in the game...
Think of it as a less controversial version of Thrill Kill, but suckier... (Thrill Kill wasn't that good to begin with.)

The special edition set gave you a controller which had no analog stick lol...

Shadow for 3do: 8bit games have better intro, the missing frames suck ALOT in digitalized-graphics,the same for SF the movie for PSX one but with stupid voices.
Pit Fighter, Mortal kombat for Super nes.
Another for 3do: way of the warrior.
for nes: many MK and SF pirate games.

It was made by Data East, and thankfully, NEVER finished, however, you can play near complete roms if you want to check out this horrid pile of crap. Also, I saw earlier, a post about War Gods. I don't know why, but I used to play the crap out of that game. I was younger then, and it's garbage now. Anubis Wins!! lol!
