Actually, I think thats a comparison to the MK2 Deadpool stages.


Indeed all stages in the trailer are from MK 1-3.

There is also the Pit II from MK 2, The Wastelands, The Kahn Arena from MK2 etc.

On the Official Site Ed Boon stated now that the new Mortal Kombat will have the deepeest story mode a fighting game ever had.

My theory is that it will be a long story mode with many cinematics similar to those in MK Vs DC from the start before the MK 1 tournament till the end of Shao Kahn's second attempt to conquer the earthrealm.

I expect to see at least all MK 1-UMK3 characters and probably some of the newer characters. maybe as dlc or unlockables without real story relevance

Visually it all looks quite awesome. I just hope the gameplay is more practical towards fighting gamers this time around.

Check the backgrounds, too:
  • That's Kira and probably Li Mei in place of Sonya and Kano shackled up in Kahn's Arena.
  • I think that's Mavado hanging in the background in the Living Forest.
  • That's definitely Taven and Daegon swapping punches in place of Blaze and Hornbuckle in Pit II.
Sucks to be a new MK character then.

Game isn't due out until next year, and by then the ratings reform will more than likely have been pushed through.  Besides, there doesn't seem to be much more in this in terms of gore than there has been in other games this generation, namely Aliens Vs Predator which got through unchanged after an appeal.  And if worse comes to worst, we can always import.

Finally a new Mortal Kombat. The trailer looks really sick, is that tag team fighting i spot... I'm a sucker for that type of stuff. I'm liking the graphics, and the 2d gameplay mechanics and that new thing when you get to see there bones on contact. I just hope that they bring back brutalities so i can beat my opponent into tiny tiny pieces and then explode. MUHAHAHAHAH *cough* sorry. :sugoi:

Honestly, I don't have much faith in the Attorneys General to make the right decision. Although none were as outspoken about it as Atkinson was, none of them considered the issue important enough to openly challenge him on it. And the guy replacing him isn't sure if he'll support the change or not.

Better not. My biggest gripe with DA was Liu dying. I swear after not playing MK for so many years I was so excited to have the new one when DA first came out. And when Liu died in the opening cutscene I was like.. What the-....

I can't even imagine how much of a damper that put on the experience. And then there was deception when he came back as a...

yeah, that pissed off my dad alot (he loves bruce lee clones). Its more than likely they'll have Liu Kang alive, after all, he did defeat Shang Tsung in the original Mortal Kombat.
