Now, with MK9 and Skullgirls being released this year, perhaps there's a chance of seeing more fighters(as well as brawlers, and beat em' up's) coming from te western region?

Maybe a revival of Killer Instinct and Clayfighter?

Show Japan(and Korea and Taiwan) that they're not the only one that can make fighters.

Nope. Kula is really the only exception.

And by RARE do you mean KI or RARE in general?

You know, I have this strange feeling that some series will soon reach their creative endings (and that some already have). Don't kill me here, but I feel that way about Tekken (after Tag 2), Darkstalkers and...Killer Instinct.

While hoping I'm wrong, I do not see those series ever getting sequels...unless, of course, their respective Companies have ambitious directors...which I don't think they have...yet.

yeah, I agree; I also think that darkstalkers will soon reach it's creative end and they will stop releasing new darkstaker games for over 10 years.

IIRC, Namco earns the most profit off of Tekken games, not to mention they're working on TxSF after Tag 2. Don't count on that dying for a good while.

Darkstalkers is not dead as it's popular and both Ono and Niitsuma likes the series so it may come back.

I have no fucking clue what's going on with KI other than what I posted before.

Yeah, I so enjoy all those darkstalkers games they release every two years.

Dont worry, Kazuya will eventually beat Jin and just before killing him Jin will send a message to his past self with the message "He must win" and then BOOM! TEKKEN REBOOT!

Ok, not dead is stretching it but whatever.

Or they'll just keep throwing each other and Heihachi off cliffs so they'll never die.

Well to be honest Clayfighter is getting a new game but I think it's just WiiStore.

i dont know why they dont make a serious sequel for dead or alive on home consoles...
really...its way more better then a lot of 3D fighters out there...

urban reign was good enough to deserve a sequel...

and...forget EA and def jam...aki corporation should just make another brawler using there own fictional characters...they can just call it...urban jam...

again...those titles had good notable successes and strong fanbases...so...why the hell not...

really...

Dead or Alive gets more interest from the TITS then it does from being serious, they even made spin-offs for gods sake, they'll become serious again when sex(y) doesn't sell.

As for Aki making a new Def Jam, I'm not sure if EA would give it to them if they did decide for a new one, considering the last one wasn't theirs

Damn I liked Fight for NY too  :doom:

lol, Satou Sei! Darkstalkers and Killer Instinct fit the "already have" part of my comment, haha.

@MalaDingDong: Yeah, I know, but Crossovers don't count. I meant Canon Sequels. On Tekken's case, I don't know what's more to do after beating the devil. IMO, that's as far as you can go, if your game is not a Crossover.

Raising an eyebrow on that. (Yeah, I have issues with MvC3.)

One of my concerns for a Killer Instinct sequel is how it could compete with the fighting games available now. How many average Joe's have heard of Killer Instinct? If it were to get a sequel, I have a bad feeling it could just get marked off as being nothing but a Mortal Kombat rip-off.

As I know, RARE now only care his Banjo & Kazooie, Conker and all their kids stuff related. I miss when they made stuff like Killer Instinct... or Battletoads in the 80s-90s :sugoi:

You mean like what they did when the game first debuted? There were a lot of MK rip-offs.

Also, we probably could just have Japan ans Taiwan be the only countries that makes Fighting titles of all kinds. No one else.

Show Japan(and Korea and Taiwan) that they're not the only one that can make fighters.

What does that stand for?
