You're supposed to edit the template indexed, either by modifying the colour table in Photoshop or via the Palette Editor in FF3.

Disbelief Aspect, loosely based on its AoCF incarnation. The bullets are short range and don't deal that much damage but, like in the Gensokyo Reloaded version of Reisen that I previously released, she can dash cancel out of the recovery animation of the attack.

 Definitely a move people will have to respect in Incident Zero, that's a scary pressure option.

"Lunatic Double" from AoCF. Decided to go with the full name of Reisen's spellcards this time around instead of the simplified names. You can probably easily tell what sprites these were edited from, and I'm a bit relieved since I didn't think this would turn out as good as I wanted it to.

Started some preliminary work on IZ Meiling and now is probably a good time to go over her gimmick;



Meiling's Unique Skill, Balance of Qi, is essentially a stance change mechanic. Each stance (as indicated by both the Yin-yang behind her spirit gauge and by her standing animation) has their own set of Normals and Specials; the Yin stance focuses more on Meiling's rushdown capabilities, while her Yang stance gives her more technical tools (for instance, her F+HP, which becomes a projectile attack during Yang stance).

Apologies for not giving any progress but I feel like it's only necessary to do so when I have something new to show off, and when it comes to the Incident Zero characters who also appear in Gensokyo Reloaded, unless they had major gameplay overhauls like Yukari or Reisen, 90% of it is going to be the same. So here's some of that 10% new content from Yuuka:


Flower Parasol Charge, which replaces Yuuka's old Thorny Rose Special from GR. If doesn't let her nullify projectiles, but it does grant Yuuka with one hit of armor and also causes a wallbounce on counterhit, which allows her to easily follow up afterward. The L and M versions of this move don't cause a knockdown, either, and leaves Yuuka just with enough range for one of her command grabs to connect afterward.

With IZ Yuuka close to finished, time to start work on something new instead of another rehash...




Outside of Reisen & Yukari's reworks, I did try to aim for at least 2 new characters before getting the Incident Zero demo build out and what better character to accompany Tenshi than Iku?

I could have posted these individually but wanted some more substance so some progress on Iku;


Dragonfish the Able Swimmer. Originally one of her alt specials in Soku, it's now her Unique Skill. Considering how slow Iku's actual movement speed is, this is a welcome addition to her arsenal, as it's effectively a dodge. Can also be used offensively to cross up opponents.


Dragon Fish's Strike, her qcf+p Special. Always hits three times, but differs on distance traveled and recovery time at the end.


Smite of the Goddess (dp+p). Iku's anti-air grab with a ton of range and damage. As you might expect, it whiffs against standing opponents. Aiding to Iku's ranged gameplay, it throws the opponent quite far afterward.


Electrostatic Guided Missile (qcb+p). Air usable. Acts like a regular projectile at first unless the attack button is held down, in which case it will stop midway in order to chase the opponent once.


Dragon God's Wrath (d,d+p). Okizeme tool. Iku can move around before the lightning strikes, but getting hit causes it to disappear.

Thorn Sign "Thundercloud Stickleback". This was a pain to balance out, but basically turns Iku herself into a mobile projectile that hits every second for 8 seconds. Disappears if Iku is hit, but can be used both defensively and offensively. Kind of fitting considering how many of Rose's moves Iku already has in source and seeing how this move resembled Soul Satellite in terms of how it functions, it was only natural that this be included as one of Iku's supers.
