$500 donation goal has been met, and I now release the Felicia I've made in honor of Child's Play Charity! Style is loosely based on Phantom.of.the.Server's signature gameplay!

A good character for a good cause.

A few things, though:
- A victim hit by Toy Touch (both normal and ES) or pursuit attack (normal only, not the ES) is stuck in the custom liedown state long enough to get hit by another Toy Touch or pursuit attack, which will then leave them stuck long enough to get hit by another one, and then another one, and then another one...
- Please Help Me is a level 3 super, yet it only does 200 damage.
- She has no AI.  Or rather, she has an AI that does not attack at all.  A placeholder for a future update?

Gratz on reaching the goal and the char release !

A few things, her throw is kinda iffy to connect (tried it vs KFM)
her custom combo/excel when she activates it her  normals do not chain like when its inactive.
Her C.HK wiffs at close range.

Especially you, BBH. Kinda funny how after 13 years, you still are like the first to reply to a Felicia release of mine.

Yeah I use the CFJ commands which are indeed a bit odd. I'll add a toggle for VSav style commands in config.txt for those who are better-suited to the VSav motions (changes both commands to simple half circle forwards) which should simplify things for many, especially since the CFJ motions I realize are not very keyboard-friendly.

Alright, just to give an update before I head off to work in a few minutes:

All issues have been fixed, along with some other things I forgot to add, such as air recovery + FX, dash cancels, dash FX, some system problems, and the Kitty The Helper Dancing Flash ender not connecting.

Think I still need to up the damage on Please Help Me! a little more, maybe lower the damage on Kitty The Helper Dancing Flash to help even it out.


AI, I totally forgot to implement, and since all commands are done through the helper, it's a requirement for the AI to literally do anything, so I'm going to get on that and hopefully finish it by tonight or tomorrow night (thankfully a lot of the AI logic for my CvS2 Felicia carried over here so I can consider it about halfway done ATM).

Alright she's been updated with AI and bug fixes! Her c.HK will still whiff on some thinner opponents up close such as KFM, but the hitboxes are accurate so I'm not going to change that. All FX are also in there as high resolution now. I also gave her back her VSav head boxes. I gave her a Liru palette too because it just seemed too fitting to not do.


Her AI I did mostly modify from the CvS2 version and I did it in only a couple of hours, so let me know if she does anything really strange.

EDIT: Just did a real quick fix right now to fix parrying.

EDIT2: I’ll also update my site to include her data + config page soon.

That's an error on my end,; was testing something regarding lie down time and I forgot to change it back. I fixed it shortly after release but I never got around to updating Demitri cuz of the FX stuff. Just change the lie down time to 30 or whatever, and PRETEND IT NEVER HAPPENED :gonk:

Pretty much; it's not really the most useful variation to be quite honest. You almost always want to use a+b or b+c.

-The EX SuperPause seems to only take effect if I set the config to 64, not 16.
My config.txt says you should use 64, but I may have made that change in the comments after the fact. It should be fine now.

-Flashing Dance is unblockable? If that's okay, then hitting crouching opponents seems to only make her bounce like the move was blocked.
Fixed; the unguaradable times were quite incorrect since they weren't being decremented during super pause (which, tbh, nothing should decrement during anyway if movetime is 0).

Also it seems the way the config file was applying the variable was messed up, so fixed that too.

Never got the chance to post feedback until now. Here it is:

-The guard spark on the standing LK is missing.
-The guard spark on all 3 Sand Splash is smaller than the hitspark.
-The throws doesn't connect unless the opponent is really close.
-There's no woosh sound during her kick throw.
-She's missing the 8102 effect when she bounces during her medium, heavy, and EX Rolling Scratch.
-The guard sounds feels like their lower quality.
-The Custom Combo sound effect isn't the same one used in PotS's characters.
-The aura on the EX moves is supposed to yellow instead of blue.
-The EX sound the EX Neko Punch cuts off half way.

This is for the latest version of the character. Some of my feedback such as the Custom Combo and EX moves Aura is supposed to resemble closer to PotS's characters, so keep that in mind.
I will still do detail and aesthetic feedback for the rest.

I also forgot to mention, I made a new tool to assist in converting old palettes to new ones. I’ll admit it’s not THE most intuitive since you have to manually enter the palette indices to copy over, but it does its job quite well. @Jmorphman: you in particular may find it useful.

There's this weird thing where her Dancing Flash just bounces off as though it was blocked when it actually hit.  Every time I've seen it happen, it was when her AI did it as a response to an enemy projectile attack and she rolls right under said projectile to hit the enemy.

-Not sure if you forgot, but the 8102 effect is missing on the EX version of Rolling Scratch.
-Stage music doesn't play during her intros (I know it supposed to be like that in CvS2, but PotS's characters lets the background music play during their intros. It's easy to fix, just thought I let you know).
-Just a question not bug related, but does she have any supers? I can't seem to perform them and they're not listed in the movelist.

If you compare the guard sparks with Rolling Scratch and Rolling Buckler, they look normal sized. It just looks smaller for some reason.

That was a mistake on my part, I forgot that PotS's Lei-Lei and Jmorphman's Demitri had blue aura too.

Hey @Jesuszilla, what's up?

I've got to say, Felicia is an amazing character!

But I noticed a problem using " VSelect" with the "Mugen Multiverse - Cross generation of fighters - 720p" screenpack  after updating Felicia for the second time. Aparently the char crashs the software, but it doesn't even have an error message, it just closes suddenly in the loading screen.

I just take Felicia out the "char" folder and the problem is solved.

Sweet; I had whipped up something similar to handle my various palette updates, but this is a lot more compact.

Photoshop seems unable to load some of the palettes it outputs, though the colors are all still there and in the right place (and Fighter Factory reads 'em fine).

I updated her again, this time fixing Cat Ride hopefully for good (some velocities were messed up, it was happening way too often so I decreased the hitbox, and sometimes small jump and super jump could get set with AI).

I've observed the AI do Dancing Flash and on a few occasions, the move doesn't go into the combo when it hits and she bounces off as though it was blocked.  This is with the current update.

Since you plan another update, can you look that these too? It seems that I missed some more small minor details:

-The dust fx on the back dash is reversed and appears in the same direction as the forward dash.
-Since she jumps on the ground during her crouching HP, I think it would look better to have the 8102 effect when she touches the ground.

Edit: Oops, miss another small detail. The guard sparks on the EX Sand Splash is small. Since I noticed the the fix in size, I forgot to check the EX version as well.

Ah, no wonder why. I think I actually did performed them during my testing, but I never knew those were the supers. That shows I never played Vampire Savior and how I'm not familiar with the game.

I tried it again, and narrowed everything down: only got errors from the default mapping. When I tried my own mapping, that worked out fine. For whatever reason, the default mapping provided leads to palette files that are 1.65KB big, and I suspect that's what Photoshop is grousing about. So basically, it's not really an issue!

I've observed the AI do Dancing Flash and on a few occasions, the move doesn't go into the combo when it hits and she bounces off as though it was blocked.  This is with the current update.

Found the issue and fixed. I forgot to bind her to the opponent when the attack connects and I had the dist check trigger incorrect (because in VSav, each parts of the ranbu are separated so that in case the opponent for whatever reason gets too far, she’ll stop in the middle if one of the hits does not connect).

Since you plan another update, can you look that these too? It seems that I missed some more small minor details:

-The dust fx on the back dash is reversed and appears in the same direction as the forward dash.
Fixed.

-Since she jumps on the ground during her crouching HP, I think it would look better to have the 8102 effect when she touches the ground.

Edit: Oops, miss another small detail. The guard sparks on the EX Sand Splash is small. Since I noticed the the fix in size, I forgot to check the EX version as well.
The FX sizes are what they are, don’t want to have any inconsistencies so again, I can’t really change them. Unless something totally stupid is happening, so I’ll re-check.

Yeah, they're known as EX moves in Vampire Savior, whereas the EX moves as most of us know them are known as ES moves. So they're Dancing Flash, Kitty the Helper, and Please Help Me!

Just remember, you do have a config option to add superpauses to those moves so you can tell when a super happens.

Alright, all bugs mentioned, plus the super jump bug, have been fixed. I also added support for some SF3 characters for 2-button throw tech. She also has some new palettes, so check them out!

They're the ones already defined in the Python file; I didn't mess with those the first time I ran them, and thus ran into the problem. But every test I've done with mappings I've defined myself have worked fine.

Just tested the update and everything else looks good. But for some reason, the command for the super jump feels too strict and I can't seem to perform it on either the left or right side. This issue wasn't there in the previous update, so you might want to take a look at it again.

There is nothing wrong with the Sand Splash's FX and does not need to be changed. I was talking about the guard sparks that appears when the opponent blocks the attack, which were small and you did fixed. Sorry if I wasn't clear about it in the first place.

Alright, I fixed the issue with super jump. Turns out there was an issue with directional presses as a whole, so buffering should be much better overall now.

Was missing 1 tick of buffer input time. Try now. I tested on keyboard and stick and compared it to CvS2's and it's pretty much the same.

Tried it again and I feel like it's still kinda strict. The problem is that I can't super jump unless she's fully crouching, which means holding the down button completely. If she is moving on either side and press down for half a second then up, she will perform a normal jump instead.

Was this intentional in CvS2? I think it's not because PotS's characters don't have this strictness when super jumping and this issue wasn't there in the previous updates. Just asking to make sure.

But I noticed a problem using " VSelect" with the "Mugen Multiverse - Cross generation of fighters - 720p" screenpack  after updating Felicia for the second time. Aparently the char crashs the software, but it doesn't even have an error message, it just closes suddenly in the loading screen.

Same here, but with any Screenpack, using Vselect.

Does anyone noticed that all of Felicia's throws are reversed if they're on the player 2 side? For example, I tried performing a throw on the left, but she tosses them on the right and the opposite. This doesn't happen if she's player 1 for some reason. Other than the super jump where she only does it when she's fully crouching by holding down, that's the only other issue I found.

I think I found one.  Dancing Flash's initial attack does chip damage and if the opponent is KO'd by that chip damage, then she just keeps rolling forward forever.

Hate to say this, but when I try to add her to my mugen roster by using vselect it just crashes when it try to boot up. Is it some kind of bug or error? Can you please fix this, Jesus?

down , down , punch (toy touch) doesn't activate. and she can go through enemies when dashing  dunno if that was intentional.

I'll try to look into the VSelect issue, though it's odd since I use FFS to save SFF's.

Yes, her dash is supposed to go through opponents. Toy Touch can only be done on downed opponents or while they're just about to hit the ground.


I found the problem with the super jump; turns out, for a command like $D for example, it doesn't just detect DF, DB, and D. It also detects DU, which is quite possible on a hitbox or keyboard setup. I'll let you guys know when the update is out.
