Maybe it's just me, but for me, Mega Evolutions was a bad way to make older POKéMON relevant again.
Seriously, even the mere premise of an in-battle evolution (which is even temporary from what I have heard) really sounds so not-POKéMON to me.
It sounds more like something that would belong to friggin Digimon.

They look really funny though

Ok 1) Digimon doesn't own "Megas". In fact, the actual term is "Ultimate"
2) temporary transforming into a more powerful form is a standard trope. Super Saiyan, Gears, Forms in Kingdom Hearts ect.
3) again, it's something new. Like berries in Gen 2, Abilities in Gen 3.
4) i woudl argue that making some more Pokemon stronger is a GOOD thing as it creates diversity in the competitive metagame. Not a lot granted but they tried.

Also, there is no way in hell Missingno would pass through Bank. It will either be blocked or turn into a Kangaskhan.

Uh, no, Mega is the level beyond Ultimate.

Up your Digimon knowledge, son.

Speaking of Digimon:

Wow, the new legendaries look great!

Uh, no, Mega is the level beyond Ultimate.
Actually, the level beyond Ultimate is Super Ultimate. Which was localised into Ultra in the English dub.

It would be awesome if Zangoose, Seviper, and Mawile got new normal evolutions. Heck, Kanghaskhan's baby as a pre-evolution form to Kangashkhan would be awesome.

I think, in terms of Pokemon design, they already made all of the existing Pokemon models and they don't need to replace them, so we might see more new ones introduced in these games.

No, there is no Ultra. It goes Rookie, Champion, Ultimate, Mega.

I don't really care what they are in Japanese, we're speaking English here.

Ahem
Super Ultimate (超究極体, Chō Kyuukyokutai?), also known as the "Ultra" level, is a level even higher than Mega. Its existence was a major focus of Digimon Adventure V-Tamer 01. Only a few Digimon are at this level, and many times they are just classified as Mega for convenience. The Korean version of Digimon Masters uses this level for Digimon beyond Mega.

Up your Digimon knowledge, son.

Maybe you should take your own advice

I still want to know what the hell was up with AZ's Floette and the Thousand Waves/Arrows move.
This isn't like the Azure Flute in Gen 4, these are 2 actual moves (3 if you count Light of Ruin that AZ's Floette has) and a new form.
You can argue that AZ Floette could just be a cutscene mon but then why give it a unique signature move?
And what about Greninjash and the Zygarde forms?
It's all very mysterious.
