Hello! This is my next Tips and Tricks for Mugen. Firstly, I ask you guys a question (To the newbies, NOT the veterans) : Did you ever felt that something is weird when the stage which you assign for the boss in your Mugen suddenly appears out of the blue in a normal battle?

Some of you guys might have experience this. So today I'm going to teach you guys about "How To  Make Hidden Stages"

It simply means this: Make it such a way so that the boss stages doesn't appear in a normal match, thus reserving that particular stage for boss/sub-boss fights only.

Here's a way:

Use this format:

[character], [stage file], [order], includestage=0, [music for character]

Example:
Let's say these are the sub-bosses/bosses which you want to assign to your Mugen.

Sub-bosses
---------------

Chizuru Kagura
Orochi Chris
Orochi Shermie
Orochi Yashiro
Krizalid-1
Kula Diamond
Zero 2001
Evil Ken
Nakoruru

Bosses
---------

Goenitz
Orochi
Omega Rugal
Krizalid-2
Zero
Igniz
Rugal2002

In your select.def file, modify it like this:

Chizuru, stages/arena96.def, order=2, includestage=0, music=sound/chizuru.mp3
OChris, stages/flames.def, order=2, includestage=0, music=sound/RhythmHal.mp3
OShermie, stages/Oshermie.def, order=2, includestage=0, music=sound/RhythmHal.mp3
OYashiro, stages/earth.def, order=2, includestage=0, music=sound/RhythmHal.mp3
Krizalid1, stages/70599.def, order=2, includestage=0, music=sound/mechbless.mp3
Kula, stages/kof2kfactory2.def, order=2, includestage=0, music=sound/iceplace.mp3
Zero2k1, stages/zero2k1bg.def, order=2, includestage=0, music=sound/0.mp3
evilken, stages/finalbattle.def, order=2, includestage=0, music=sound/GRugal.mp3
nakoruru, stage/nightpark.def, order=2, inclustage=0, music=nakoruru.mp3
Goenitz, stages/deststadium.def, order=3, includestage=0, music=sound/Orochiwind.mp3
Orochi, stages/orochibg.def, order=3, includestage=0, music=sound/origin.mp3
ORugal, stages/orugal98.def, order=3, includestage=0, music=sound/ORugal98.mp3
krizalid, stages/krizalid2bg.def, order=3, includestage=0, music=sound/krizalid2.mp3
Zero, stages/Zero2kbg.def, order=3, includestage=0, music=sound/zero.mp3
Igniz, stages/ignizbg.def, order=3, includestage=0, music=sound/igniz.mp3
Rugal2k2, stages/Rugal2k2bg.def, order=3, includestage=0, music=Rugal2k2.mp3

Just repeat the process for any stages you wanted to hide.

Now you'll notice that the following stages does not appear in the stage select menu any longer, and the boss stages no longer being used in a normal match anymore:

Reserved for Sub-boss fights
------------------------------------

Arena96.def
Flames.def
Oshermie.def
Earth.def
70599.def
Kof2kfactory2.def
Zero2k1.def
Finalbattle.def
Nightpark.def

Reserved For Boss Fights
--------------------------------

deststadium.def
orochibg.def
orugal98.def
krizalid2bg.def
zero2kbg.def
ignizbg.def
Rugal2k2bg.def

And thus, the stage is only reserved for their respective sub-boss/boss fights.

(Note: It affects the following modes.

1. Team VS
2. Training
3. Watch

Note: You can't do stage select for these modes:

1. Arcade Mode
2. Team Arcade Mode
3. Team Co-Operation Mode

Note: You have to assign a character to the stage you want to hide (Usually a sub-boss or a boss)).

Voila! You've did it! The hidden and unselectable boss stages! Have fun trying!

^_^

Coming soon:

My next topic: "About Orders" (Cancelled since it's already explained in the Mugen docs). Replaced by another unknown topic. ^_^

My highlight of the month topic: "How To Make Hidden/Secret Characters!"

Wait a minute! Didn't Elecbyte says that it is not supported?

If you have nothing to say then don't post, people. I thought that forum was designed to host advanced tutorials and codes.

maybe he didn't read the mugen docs? and he figured it out on his own we must not forget what may be common knowledge to some is absolute gray area for others. i'm sure he wouldn't have posted if he didn't think it could help others. also don't forget we tend to know a whole lot and it takes someone telling us what we allready know to spark an idea or memory, that or he wasted our 5 sec. to read his post.

My Mugen Tips and Tricks (This topic: "How To Make Hidden Stages") is for the newbies, NOT the veterans. I'm posting for the sake of their knowledge, so that they may learn something, and so that they won't have to ask help in the Help forum with questions like, "My stage which I assign for my boss appears in my Mugen in a normal match. How can I fix this?", or something like that... I don't get paid for this post, I'm just sharing it with others so that they might learn something out of it. Hope you guys understand.

I prefer people postin such tips ather than posting questions like "how can I add more than 10 characters in mugen".

At least he's trying to apport something instead of leeching, like the 98% of the users of this forum.
