Hey guys! for those who watched HDBZ Champ build trailer and saw android 18, yes this is happening. I would like to introduce mysefl,
I'm Nico_18 (aka Nicotinefist) and I am spriting C18. Team Z2 secretly have been guiding me through the development of this character and in general they have been supporting me a lot (love y'all guys).
Also C18 will be coded by the amazing XGargoyle

Those animations are perfect! Keep it up, Nico! I can't wait to see more of those anims and screenshots!

I watched the video they'd uploaded for the release because I loved seeing 18 there and the quality of the sprites!

Maybe it's just me, but in her second to last sprite (kick with arms on hips) her legs kind of look as if they switch places as she steps forward.
Other than that, she looks great! :)

I just checked it and her stance for the split seconds we saw in the champ build trailer is very similar to the one from Extreme Butoden (not saying the sprites are the same, just saying the stance looks similar to the one from EB That and since Krillin was using EB sprites for references and base's some times, I didn't know if it was the same with Android 18.) And are you saying he made that stance 2 years ago! Like... dang that's a long time ago.

18 kinda stands like that in Super DBZ too, just with her legs closer together.

Those animations are fantastic! Tons of personality. Interested in seeing what sort of moves and gameplay you can come up with, because the androids never made a big impression on me in the anime/manga.

Yes, actually that was kinda intentional, besides it's barely noticeable in game

her stance is based mostly in that sprite made by Chamat

based in that, I tried to "update it" as a practice, in order to practice the z2 style

Regarding of the use of EB sprites as a base for her, I'm trying to use them as little as possible (There are several good references there, so I'll be picking the most decent ones)

It looks spectacular and more knowing that it is the first female character of HDBZ

The animations and sprites are just amazing. I love how you give her some very graceful motions but also add a very nonchalant attitude. Perfect interpretation of the character.

The only thing that bothers me in her chest. It looks kinda misshapen.

Thanks :) and yeah, breasts are difficult to get right, I tried to keep them simple as possible, besides I didn't want to define them too much since she is not that busty.

I'm surprised how low profile you've been Nico, it's actually pretty cool seeing this. Also for the longest time after that champ edition trailer I knew I've seen those 18 sprites before in the Z2 Sprite thread, or Android 17 inspired thread.

Actually, on that topic, there was something I enjoyed out of the Budokai series that some later DBZ games dropped, in that when the androids charged their energy, they did not have the typical fire-shaped aura around their bodies like everyone else in the series, just dust clouds and energy waves.  I would love to see that return, I thought it was an nice nod in the lore about how they don't use your typical ki source, rather Gero's machinery inside them.  Same when they fly at high speed, no signature color-coded aura trail following them.

Otherwise other games have given the androids the plain white aura trail of most humans, and it felt off-putting personally.

I'd prefer less quarter-assed characters like Chichi, Videl or even Towa. Hell, if we need a female Saiyan, then I'd prefer Fasha.... at least she looked cool.

Caulifla and Kale are two of the cheapest and laziest characters I've seen in any form of media, ever.

They're not perfect by any means, more time with their backstory before where the series is at now would have been greatly appreciated, but for what they are in a series such as Dragon Ball?  They're absolutely fine, better than I expected to be honest, and their designs are unique enough to make them stand out.  Just unfulfilled potential in the series as of now.  Dragon Ball alone has got a number of worse characters.

Uh, but to stay on topic, I have to say, I love the whole shifting weight thing from one leg to another with that third gif.  Focusing on the feet though, it feels a little jittery how they suddenly jump to face the opponent?

Especially the middle pic with the kick,if she crossed her arms while she turned around that would be so sassy.

Last comment I'm gonna make on the subject because I don't want to derail any further. IMO, Kale and Caulifla are literal insults to the series. They are so indescribably terrible that they make Super, which I find to be one of the deepest declines in quality for a series, if not the absolute deepest, even shittier. There's just absolutely zero redeemable qualities about them and it's like they wrote their entire characters in 10 seconds.

Well this looks exactly as the version of extreme butouden (my irony level is at 1 million power).
If you are just editing you could separate some colors like the arms from the stockings since those use the same color.
Reason for being so delayed 404 not found since is an edit of something already ripped the hitsparks are already made the movements well she doesn't have much moves.

I made a comparisson of what he has released and extreme butouden and are the same the only difference i found was in one sprite that is the only edit i found she had a bigger ass on her vicotry pose but was one.

Might wanna look again buddy. I'm pretty sure 18 is being hand-drawn just like all the other HDBZ characters. Nico's shown sprites before that game even came out, anyway. I'm sure she'll have more than 'not much moves' too. Also 18 in Extreme Butoden's arms are already separated from her tights, depending on which rips you use.

Ripped on my own all the 2000 sprites of 18 plus the remaining sprites (around 400 more)  for her fx and hitsparks most sprite rips you found have several misiing sprites i didn't found a full rip of her sprites so i made my own.
This is why i said are the same.
Wel i'm aware this guys are using patreon as their piggy bank so they are going to release when people realize this guys wanted money on their pocket.
I don't think it would take so much time to do that,for example i made 350 sprites in a month for a char (NOT RELEASING) and nobody payed money so if this guys are getting money they should release chars more frequently like 2 each month orat least one per month editing a char with the same ammount of sprites is more easy since you aren't making everything from scratch i understand coding is difficult but 2 chars in 2 years is weird i thought this project was dead but when people start making questions and stop the flow of money suddenly a new z2 char appears weird.

Ahem...None of the Z2 sprites were ripped from somewhere, all of them were made from scratch. Two chars per month ? you know something of quality takes more time to make.

Look man, you obviously have no idea how much time this stuff takes up from there normal lives so please stop trying to push them unnecessarily. You make alot of sprites in that time? Good for you. Guess what? Everyone is different. Nico's still in highschool for crying out loud, if anything team Z2 is working really fast when you compare it to their previous release schedules.

Maybe if you have the talent to sprite 350 sprites in a month you should be doing that for cash instead of begging for donations over loli pornography..
You are showing large degrees of ignorance so I would recommend stop shaming yourself further.

Ripped on my own all the 2000 sprites of 18 plus the remaining sprites (around 400 more)  for her fx and hitsparks most sprite rips you found have several misiing sprites i didn't found a full rip of her sprites so i made my own.

Wel i'm aware this guys are using patreon as their piggy bank so they are going to release when people realize this guys wanted money on their pocket.

Dude, I feel that you have several misconceptions about the whole project

1. In general we use several games as references for the animations, included extreme butoden, it's not a secret, people are not stupid, they are smart enough to notice when an animation its made from scratch, which is exactly what I'm doing , don't insult me saying that I don't put effort in the animations that i make.

2. I have a day job besides of assisting to college, i don't make an money of this project. Some of our artist members have a patreon account, but they don't offer this game or a character in specific to be in the game as a reward,  every single member of this team has a day job, patreon it's a side thing.

3. I'm not a great animator, I have to put extra effort in everything i do, plus I work on this on my spare time, which is 2-3 hours per day, and sometimes I spend that time doing other things besides working on animations, so i don't have to much time on the week to spend working on this, I do this because it's my hobby and because i love dragon ball. To be able to do 350 sprites in a month, i should have to sit in front a computer every day of the week which it's impossible to me since I have real life obligations and I'm not good enough to work on animation professionally.

All that being said, you sound like a very bitter and rude person, you will never be successful in general with that attitude, which it's sad, since you proclaim yourself as such efficient spriter

Thanks for your kind words. Lately it has been hard for me to keep up the pace on this project, but i'm always trying to do stuff even if they are minimal.  But anyway, I really appreciate your patience and everyone else in regards :)

looking interesting this char i must say and you guys know how to give the unique touch to every char,for and opinion of your last char Tien i must say that i gives justice to his persona i must add,l like the way he does that jojo Ora and finish my combo with a level 2 dodona o hikoha,and for android 18 i am really safe to know that the hdbz universe is in your hands to make them a tribute.
