Well after a brief period I decided to comeback (hi guys you probably didn't noticed I was gone. Anyway...) I logged in and all was fine. When I started Opera again and wanted to visit Guild I got a blanks screen and this:QuoteParse error: syntax error, unexpected T_ARRAY, expecting ')' in /srv/www/mfg/forumx/Sources/Subs.php on line 1149Right now I'm using Google Chrome because when I use Opera I get that message. What happened? //edit: And now is working again (greetings from Opera).
QuoteParse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /srv/www/mfg/forumx/Sources/Subs.php on line 1148
QuoteParse error: syntax error, unexpected T_OBJECT_OPERATOR in /srv/www/mfg/forumx/Sources/Subs.php(1341) : runtime-created function on line 21
we recently smoothed by the 500k posts milestone, which got me access to a private "Big Boards" forum on the simplemachines page where all the big guys play.now, one of the topics of discussion there is an experimental implementation of the sphinx search engine as search daemon for smf - they had me at "experimental". soo after some fiddling, the search now runs on this new engine instead of the crappy builtin mysql one.I tested a bit, and it appears to run faster than the old search at less load for the server, and the relevance column actually appears to give proper results (although it can't be sorted by).So basically, the forum just gained a level. Yay. ...exam tomorrow. *sneaks back to studying*
Well, I use the search engine a lot for the requests and stuff. Turned on the forum archive just now and searched for a couple of hard ones. It used to work good before and give all relevant as possible and now does too, just maybe now loads the results a bit faster.I've seen forums where the search function doesn't give relevant results, it does happen and it's a pain indeed.
Oook now I was trying to post this one: http://mugenguild.com/forumx/index.php?topic=95580.0So made a search for the word Gal just checking the found releases box, it brings up any thread with the word Gal, but not with Gal129. I guess it's like that now for many words. One's gotta be more precise. Just saying in case.
