Retail/workplace music (why does it have to suck so bad?)

Is it just me or does every venture of business play the same droning of soft rock and classics that've become far to cliche? No matter where I shop or what time of day it is at work it's the same thing: Eagles' I Can't Tell You Why, Spinning Wheel's Blood Sweat & Tears, Robert Palmer's I Didn't Mean To Turn You On (why can't they play the original one??), just about every popular single by The Beatles, etc etc. Some retailers share a dedicated station that plays the same monotony while others actually use a CD provided by the company (Walgreen's used to do this years ago).

Regardless of personal taste in music styles it would serve people better if they didn't play the same shit over and over and over again. Or worse, at my job we have five different dedicated radio stations with the same playlist. Now I've been with this job for a year and some change and I've heard it all. I'm amazed at their chillout station (they fucking played Irresistible Force's Neplase Bliss! Go Ninja Tune!) but it's still the same ol' droning. Goes without saying that groceries stores playing the same holiday-themed music is any better.

SO...just wondering if we all share the same crappy music nation-wide, if not worldwide? What stuff do they constantly blast over the speakers at your workplace?

I just put either rockabilly or punk playing.
We all have our headsets so we dont need to listen to other's musics, but sometimes we remove the headsets and play the stuff out loud.
One of my co workers laughs everytime "Inspector Gadget" punk version comes up.

if it were up to me at work(which lol it can be if i wanted to be an asshole)i would just play reggeaton all day  :)

lol I use to work at victoria's secret as a stock associate and they use 2 play justice - dance in there! that was the best song they played! "do your dance/ doooo yoooouuuurrr daaaance/"  ;D then I got fired for tagging in the stock room lol THEY DIDNT EVEN HAVE PROOF THAT IT WAS ME! w/e  ;P
