Hi everyone!
I'm trying to make a Mugen char, but I'm not very good doing sprites in Kof XII Style, so I want to ask you if someone want to make ths sprites with me. I can rip the sprites and make as much as I can, but I need help with the final edit...
An example:

Seems like a good start, try to look at sprite reference for the next step.

If you're just trying to create a character with good sprites then I'd recommend you stick with SF4's images closer (by that I mean don't try to redraw their shadows to try to really fit with KoF XII's lighting direction). Do what you were doing with that sprite, but try to stick with the original image. If you really wanted KoF XII's lighting, you could always slightly change the shade and add gradient's, since XII and SF4's lighting are close enough.

I'd also recommend that you just use SF4's models and create your own lighting/animation/etc, because unless you have a way to lock the location+rotation of the camera during gameplay, then the character images will always fall off and become inconsistent plus you won't be able get certain moves like the specials that rotate the characters all around and off screen.
The problem with using the models though is that you'd have to create a new skeleton from scratch because they can't be extracted with the mesh and you'd also have to create the animations from scratch.

But if you did decide to use the models instead of screenshots, you'd have much more control over the sprites or whatever :impressed:

The problem is I have no idea how to rip the models...
I read that using a program called Quickbms I can rip the models and even the moves, only using a script made by .... mmmmm..... well, I don't remember his name...
Anyway, I've been trying to rip wtih Quickbms but I don't get it, I have no idea how to use it... :(
Anyone knows????

Googled "SF4 Mod" to http://sf4mods.pbworks.com, a site for modding Street Fighter 4, in the midst of modding they rip the models and move around vertices and redraw the textures to create their own character looks and sounds (but they have to leave the model intact in order for it to be properly placed back into the game)

Anyway, piecemontee's SF4 Assets Explorer is what you need to rip, QuickBMS has absolutely nothing to do with SF4 ripping and as far as I know someone only used it to extract some loose files from KoF XII. I don't remember too well how to use it and the tutorial you'd find for it there or somewhere else (forgot the location) would kinda run you around wrong since you're not trying to mod like most people do.

I'm going to PM you a bit more because I don't want to continue talking about 'ripping 3d models' in a '2d sprite theme' thread.  :ssh: Anyone reading this that's too lazy to use google or try to figure the rest of this stuff out themselves can PM me about whatever it is I'm adding in a PM.

sighs. welp. The data I make for SF3 Style Ogre is long dead thanks to a dead hard drive (Sighs).
Thankfully I at least now know some insight on sprite creation. therefore, I decided to take it another notch.
My first KOF XIII sprite WIP so far(AND I HAVE THIS BACKED UP THANK GOD).

As Zap Brannigan says "Im actually Kinda proud of this one".

Anyone could tell me of a good Video Capturer? I'm using Movavi Screen Capture, but it captures video with lower resolution and the images are not very clear to rip... :(

Im not sure if I see the similarity, but I did look at your gouki for color reference.
The sprite I used was a stand position from Ryon's Raging Akuma.
also, legs are too short?

well, i dont have problems with Fusions(cvs+sfa)

sfa is very robust for sfa torso,maybe two or three more pixel to increse range,giving a better look
at least for me

one more thing,Akuma has more resemblance to Terry in arms,ralf is not a good model

everything is great, but those muscles in the arm ... look confusing.  Tricep-Bicep-Elbow, all of that area
