Just an idea I had for a game. Probably will never get made.
Title: Myth Fighter

The kingdom of Ahulny is on the verge of a succession crisis. The great warrior king's seers and prophets have foreseen his death in the next year, and unfortunately the king has no sons or daughters. Wanting his empire to be ruled by a powerful warrior like himself, he claims he will give the throne to whoever can slay the eight beasts he deems as the most dangerous in the world. The challenge is open to anyone, be it noble, peasant or bandit. Immediately, great warriors from all around the world step up at the chance to rule.

The game is a three button fighting game, we'll name then A, B and C.
A is used for light attacks, press repeatedly for a combo.
B is a heavy attack. Whatever it can be comboed into/make a combo varies from character to character.
C is a special attack, which is unique to each character.
Some characters have additional moves that can be performed by doing special inputs (usually a button plus a direction).
As the player takes/deals damage, their rage meter will fill up. Once the rage meter is full, pressing all three buttons will make the character do their ultimate move.
The stages have platforms the player can jump on and other environmental hazards/traps.
The game's arcade mode functions like Red Earth (no levelling up though). The player travels around the world, fighting 8 different bosses.
There's four playable characters, each being a typical fantasy archetype:
Knight:

A wealthy, well known knight from a neighbouring kingdom. The knight is somewhat slow but deals a lot of damage. Slightly below average combo-ability, and poor aerial control, but good range and easy to deal lots of damage. His ultimate move involves riding his horse and ramming into the enemy at full speed.
Witch:

A sinister sorceress hailing from the Barren Wastes. The witch excels at long range. Has lots of projectiles and other tricky moves/traps. Faster than the knight, but kinda sucks at close range. Her ultimate is a wall of flame the covers the whole screen.
Bandit:

A dangerous bandit feared throughout the country. He lacks range but is fast and has some traps such as throwing bombs. Great combo-ability and
decent aerial control, but has low health. His ultimate involves summoning his bandit crew and ambushing the enemy.
Assassin:

A strange woman that originates from the far eastern countries. Extremely fast and agile, the assassin focuses on hard-hitting, single strikes that deal a lot of damage in one go. Great air control, can wall jump and her ultimate poisons the enemy.
Similarly, the bosses are creatures from mythology.

1. Minotaur
A strange creature that rules the demon kingdom of Tauris, the minotaur is slow but hits like a truck. He has one fast move however, which consists of running and ramming into the player.
2. Medusa
A woman that lives in an abandoned temple within the mountains. She can freeze the player temporarily with her eye beams.
3. Oni
A giant that can control lighting. Has the power to summon storms and has a lot of range.
4. Tengu
A humanoid bird that dresses like a ninja. He's pretty much a boss version of the assassin.
5. Sirens
A trio of birds with human heads. Can put the player to sleep by singing.
6. Desert worm
A giant, man eating worm. Can burrow itself underground and has an insta-kill attack where it eats the player.
7. Kulkulkan
A giant serpent that attacks by causing earthquakes and controlling light.
8. Dragon
A colossal dragon that lives in an underground cave beneath a volcano. Final boss, attacks with fire and by creating mini-tornados by flapping it's wings.
