RESURRECTION

Just finished updating all of Zenith's sprites. I was gonna use Rikimaru's sprites and edit them but I was surprised how many people preferred the old sprites, so I went and reshaded the pants and torso and voila, he looks a lot better. Here's a comparison .gif (I wrote "old/new" using Fighter Factory's pencil tool, lol).

Also here are some run animations for returning characters.

I could use some help with the screenpack if anyone is interested, I know the new mugen can use .png files so there's no color loss (as far as I know), but I'm still working with Mugen 1.0 from years ago. I tried making it myself but then I saw what some people were capable of with Mugen lately and I was a bit embarrassed by how low-fi mine looked.

Don't be embarrassed man, you came a long way and some people just live for art. I just like how far you came, and the fact that 3 is still going strong!

For what it's worth, I have been thinking a LOT about SHADEs recently and how unique and interesting it was growing up as a teen. Love the character designs and story to this day. I'm REALLY thrilled to see it's still in development.

I recommend getting in contact with OldGamer, he's familiar with all facets of screenpack making.

I would also recommend getting in touch with President Devon, because he does some clean looking work on screenpacks and lifebars and is clearly a humble ass dude

If anything, I did like some of the choices of the shades 2 sp, they were just low quality. Like, the char select can have a similar brick wall bg, but with maybe a dim bulb/lamp swinging back and forth highlighting the player 1 and 2 section. Or at least something with an urban aesthetic, with more hi-res textures n' such. Just throwing things out there.

Thanks for the support everybody

I decided early on this would be a 4 button game. I had been playing a lot of KOF and honestly the system had grown on me a lot. I'll be making up for it with more command normals and target combos.

Like it looked not nearly as good as the screenpacks getting released these days. I'm not a graphic design guy so I feel like someone who is could make something way nicer looking.

Yeah that's what I'm talking about. The new game is called City of Chaos so I'm hoping for a screenpack that matches the theme. The last two games used a lot of cool colors (blue, purple) and muted tones because of the urban/night-time theme, but this one should have lots of reds and oranges, buildings on fire, that sort of thing.

Haven't done anything with Ikemen at all, but if someone wants to port it like they did SHADEs 2, go for it.

-------------------

Here's some screens of what I had been working on by the way. They were in no way considered finished, just sort of a starting point to build off of thematically. I'm still using Mugen 1.0 and Cybaster's stage tool for stuff and I've been working on stuff alone.

Character Select

Title Screen

Options (this screen looks better animated, it has a cool static/jumpy effect like it's surveillance footage or something)

That title screen looks dope, already looking good and a kof style
Command system sounds good too.
