That's assuming he's in an area with people that still play regularly. My area doesn't have that many people playing unlike before aside from the occasional spoofer.
Heh, Hawaii still has a ton of 'em, and there are multiple chat groups that constantly monitor gyms for raids so that the playerbase can mobilize at any given moment. When we went yesterday, there were like 50 people camped out in front of a Starbucks (there were three other Pokestops lured nearby to have ungodly amounts of Pokemon spawns) and dudes scouting the city for Lugia/Articuno raids so we could all just rush it.Yeah it's kind of a big deal around here.
https://www.nianticlabs.com/blog/Recent blog update details on what went wrong with Chicago Go Fest. Additionally, not only is Articuno get a time extension, but Zapdos and Moltres are arriving soon!QuoteArticuno (Team Mystic) released on Saturday, July 22 and available through Monday, July 31.Moltres (Team Valor) to be released on Monday, July 31 and available through Monday, August 7.Zapdos (Team Instinct) to be released on Monday, August 7 and available through Monday, August 14.Also, Bonus updates will last until Thursday.
LOL at Zapdos being released last, messing up the whole UNO DOS TRES joke.Well, time to assemble muh squad again over the next two weeks.
Oh, believe me, @Jango: I am in a team already (Team Valor).In fact, I did try to beat Articuno not too long ago, but got absolutely WRECKED by it. I used my strongest Fire POKéMON and couldn't even SCRATCH that fucker, and all because I had to fight it all alone!...living in Duisburg (Germany) can be suffering sometimes... ;-;
... Yeah, you can't really solo anything above Lv. 2 (and even Lv. 2's knock out two or three mons in the process at my level), and Articuno/Lugia are Lv. 5's.
Stumbling upon a Lugia raid AND there were enough people to take it down AND being one of the trainers able to catch it?
Nice.Me, on the other hand, was able to catch an Articuno on its last day and a Moltres on its first day.brb gonna level up my electric POKéMON now for whenever I stumble upon a group participating on a Lugia raid.
Moltres is out!And it's probably the easiest to take out, at least from my part. Went into a few raids and survived with only 3 to 4 Pokémon at full health in a raid of 10 compared to Articuno.
Yeah that was pretty easy. I think it also helped having gold medals for both Flying and Fire.EDIT: I also want to point out that I caught this and Articuno at the same gym: a Starbucks in my city. I REALLY want to make Zapdos get caught here for tradition. Lugia was caught at a church lol
Perhaps a little too easy....Having a team of flawless to near flawless Golems with Stone Edge is almost a guaranteed win with as little trainers as possible. That Rock Event from months ago was to prepare us for this day all along! And the massive Stardust investment also helps, good luck with that, yeah.
I'm having a lot of troubles trying to capture this bird, for me is harder than Articuno (and I have both gold medals)
Are you curving your balls? It's trickier, but curveballs make Premier Balls have a catch rate that's slightly better than throwing non-curved Great Balls.Also Golden Razzberry is a must. And getting throw bonuses (Excellent if possible, Great is also okay). You can up your catch rate to something like 1/4 with all these factors in mind.
Additionally, wait until the birds are on the ground and not in the air. Wait until they roar at you (their attack animation). By the time their animation ends, that is your cue to fling your curve ball.The timing on when to throw your ball is important. When their animation is about to end, that is when you should start curving. Try not to delay or there is a chance they can roar again and it will block your catch. Nanab berries can help but only if your curve ball technique is good and are able to get consecutive "Great" rates.
Yup, I'm curving the balls, and feed'em Golden. I'm having trouble with the distance, is like Moltres is further than Articuno. I guess is practice.
Ah, gotcha.Also this:The processHold down on Pokeball until ring is the size you want.Let go (don't throw)Wait for the Pokemon to attack. While they do so, get a curveball started.Just before the attack ends, throw the curve ball.Basically this takes advantage of two things: that the ring only decreases in size when holding it, and will NOT decrease if you're holding the ball during an attack.Never noticed the thing about the circle before, but I've been doing it more and it helps SO much
Thanks guys, it was practice after all. I'm really bad at curving excellent throws, but I'm almost consistent at curving great throws. I caught 2 Moltres of 6, tomorrow I'll try again, I want one over 90%.
Best bird is mine now15/12/15 IVs, so not the best attack, but I'm very happy with it otherwise!Also that globe in the left is one of the many chat groups I mentioned this island having. I was able to mobilize 16 people to help me catch this one.
Oh my Arceus! 93% Congratulations, my best legendary bird is Zapdos with 91%, tied with an Articuno. I'll search for more Lugia and Zapdos!
