Thanks guys, I know it's taken forgoddamnever, but I'm working to finally get this update finished. Here's a couple updated screens:New, hopefully final, Title ScreenNew Vs. Screen conceptThe new Vs. screen is a little idea I've been messing around with. Still fucking around with the template so it works well with big and small characters alike, as well as making it relatively easy for everyone to make their own. The red lines move upwards, while the blue lines move downwards to give it the illusion of movement. I really wish we could use animated portraits, or at least add some velocity to them or something. On top of the screenpack stuff, here's a couple new animations for Mario:
Thanks, Boss.Did some more Mario stuff today, knocked out all the blocks and edited a new Air Glide. I always thought the Super Leaf was more iconic than the Wing Cap, so here it is:I'm not sure if Sean will implement an Air Glide/Dash in his gameplay, but I did it anyway.
Thanks, LordSinistro.I sent out a couple beta copies of the EOA update to get some feedback and make sure I didn't overlook any details. Barring anything too drastic, I should have a release by next weekend. In the meantime I'll be working on some of the feedback and a nice little portrait pack to go along with the release. Jesustittyfuckingchrist it feels good to almost have this thing done, lol.
With EOA done and out the door, I can focus on Mario and Guy full-time. All of Mario's standing punches and kicks are almost done, just need to finish up the Hard Kick: Not so sure about the motion blur, I may take it out if it doesn't fit with everyone else. On a somewhat related note, Sean and I haven't talked about a move set for Mario, and I've just been knocking out some basic stuff. If anyone has any ideas for possible new moves, I may be able to edit some existing sprites to accommodate them.
I hate to triple post, but here's more progress on Mario: All standing and crouching basics done, along with some get-hits and a few other random sprites.Also...davismaximus said, December 17, 2012, 06:03:05 amIf anyone has any ideas for possible new moves, I may be able to edit some existing sprites to accommodate them.
I don't mean to throw a bunch more on your workload, but if you could do Mario's final smash motion and cape moves from Smash Bros, that would be pretty awesome.
I'll try my hand at his Final Smash for sure. It would make a great substitution for his other LVL 3, which I wasn't planning on doing. As for the cape moves, you're referring to the one that knocks back projectiles right? I haven't played SSB in forever, so I don't remember if there's any others.
Alright cool, thanks for the info. Another stupid question, but would that move even be possible in Mugen? Off the top of my head, I can't think of anyone who does that besides Rose, and I'm unsure if any of her Mugen incarnations can knock back an opponents projectile. I sprite like old people fuck, so it would kind of be a waste to sprite a move that wouldn't work properly.
Fair enough, I'll see what I can come up with. Here's a rough draft of the Final Smash animation. It could probably use another frame or two, along with a couple tweaks here and there.C&C welcome.
Look at the anim in Brawl again, Mario uses two hands and alternates, sort of like Gouken throwing hadoukens or the ki blasts in DBZ games.
I don't actually have Brawl, so I was going off of this video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gHtkm6ePGcwThe FX are in the way to see his hands, so I wasn't exactly sure what his hands are doing. I'll try using Gouken as a reference next time, thanks.
