whassup guys, im new here to MFG although i've looked through some threads a few times before. been a big fan of Balth's style for a few years i thought of posting here after my friend HadeS told me about his Beerus z2 spritetried emulating z2 with Toppo here (my first Z2 sprite ever) just watched Balth's video of him spriting Tien then mostly eyeballed it, so definitely hoping for some critique. anything i can fix? haven't seen a chubby z2 sprite yet iirc so i didnt have reference for Toppo's tummyalso, quick question. im used to spriting pokemon, which usually takes me around 10-35 minutes depending on the complexity. Toppo z2 took me about 45 minutes, and idk how much time Balthazar uses for a single Z2 sprite. some of his non-sped up youtube vids show him spriting for 16 minutes
He looks amazing! I figured you were going to make that one and I must say, I'm impressed! I think he should be a tad taller but the rest is great! !The only chubby sprite that I recall, which isn't 100% official, is the one made by AlexSin:

I have been planning on doing this animation for a while.Dabura Stance WIP 01 I was going for a God Rugal type of cape flapping.Here he is with no cape if you want to give it a try.I thought about having him open and close his hand, but I am horrible at spriting fingers.
I dig it, but the right hand (our left) looks like it's angled a bit weird. it's prolly the way you sprited the sleeve fold on the wrist
That idle is really nice proto!though the wind movement of the pants/shirt need a little bit of a fixup, there it looks like its just being pixel shifted, but if you look at the rugal stance you can see that its moving subtly with pixel shifting and some slight outline movements, but nothing too big
I agree with leparagon; I think his right hand should be edited so that the full extent of the arm has the fist of the most-closed frame. Like the frame when he breaths in, that fist should be when he breaths all the way out. For the new hand, you should see the back of his fist. Maybe pull the wrist in closer to his waist also. Right now it looks like both arms are pointed to his right. Where they should both be pointed inward or outward. One in and one out kinda looks off, imho. I think his left arm looks great.
His shoulders should raise with him arms somewhat. Right now it looks as if his arms are retracting into the puffy sleeves.
i also noticed the way dabura's shoulders and pants move in the wind is just right and left in your sprite. god rugal has a sort of letter S motion for his pants and a circular motion for his shouldersedit: btw his pants have that S motion because he's wearing slacks, so I think dabura's pants and shoulders should be have a small circular motion like Rugal's shoulders
Thank you all for the great input. Looks like this needs a lot of work.I am going to come back to this later. It is a bit out of my skill level.
Adding the circular motion to the shoulders will fix both critiques. One thing is around his belt shouldn't move as much. When you add the up & down, that should be an easy fix too.What you have is a great start! Keep going man!

Other than that it might be a good idea to make his legs more anime accurate and to repose him like in his actual fights. That way you can use his screentime in the tournament as references and you won't have to worry about changing the proportions too much.
Pretty sure the Z2 style tries to keep a certain limit to how many shades you add to one color, and your edit of it looks not only overdetailed, but the difference is hardly notable. I dare argue that his legs look worse in your edit, but the upper body looks a bit better.

You could also add the black high light to the calf.Just for consistency, and visibility I would make the dark green patches/spots 2X bigger.

Also another character with his arms crossed XD and that's not a complaint or problem because it looks just as cool as Frieza's Stance.
