Some...odd decisions were made.

Automatically assuming that being from a further point in time means your software is immune to a program you have never come in contract with just because it causes a similar outcome is a rather large leap of faith to put in .EXE resisting X's elf program attack. All the more-so because their direct follow-up point agrees with that statement. Let Star Force have his advantage over it, fine, whatever, but .EXE should struggle with it at least a bit being a completely new basis of programming to deal with scrabbling his insides.
Also, having not played .EXE's games, it occurs to me the basis of his world sounds an awful lot like .hack// and their universe. Shouldn't his distances traveled be significantly smaller because it's a pocket dimension? I guess they're scaling his size as well?
And sorry, the animation had a lot going on, but none of it was really impactful. Some of them even were killed off to no fanfare or even acknowledgement to them being gone outside they simply were not in the scene any more. And the last two kills were just shrugged off.
Next battle is based solely on some wordplay with their names and neither are particularly interesting characters. Ah well. The last Death Battle Cast confirmed this next one's in 3D, but I suppose given one of the two characters that was to be expected.

I always thought they would do the fan request Screw Attack tends to get for Black Widow, her against Kim Possible. Unfair match-up, sure, but at least an amusing one.
