Thanks dude, did some more work on him today.

Top to bottom:
- His kick throw. Added the 2nd frame and fixed the fingers on the first.
- (Middle Two Rows) His punch throw. He does a Judo type throw and sweeps the opponent to the ground. Then he hops on top of them to the "mount" position. This is a mashable throw.
- (bottom) His crouching and jumping block animations.

Here's the rest of the Dee Jay sprite edits. Thanks again to Dark-Zerox709 for ripping these, and to Dai Kawahara for drawing the original head, couldn't have done it without them. Also, updated the sprite sheet and re-posted it in Resource Releases:



This was all I had left for Joe. Thanks again to Shubuster for ripping these. After I get these done I will look at trying to add the shoes:

Had a thought about Joe's shoes, not sure what people will think of this, but was thinking that maybe he could have them on for his intro. Then, after he throws his jacket off, he jumps up and does a split kick and kicks them both off at the same time?

He could look cool without his shoes. And it would be realistic because some professional fighters (in Pride for example) wear shoes when they fight some fighters and don't when they fight others. Maybe he realized he fought better without his shoes? Or maybe he just fucked them up kicking the sides of trains?

Lol well I was only half ass making an excuse. I actually do think he looks okay without the shoes. Idk maybe I will add them, but kind of wanted to get started on Retsu.

Hehe, here we go, now he's 100% complete (the barefoot version at least). Going to add this to the resource releases section after I update the sprite sheet. Included a couple of alternate upper bodies on the bottom.

Also Joe was probably the hardest of the 4 to make because of all of the muscle groups that were exposed. That makes a big difference.

Started adding the shoes today. Anybody know if a SFA4 edit pack has been made or one for SF1?

Gotta agree with those, who said that in shoes he'll look better. Indeed he looks better in them :truestory:

So is there already a coder for him? Looking at sprites makes me eager to try him out in action :kugoi:

I agree with all the others. With shoes, Joe finally looks like Joe, not like White DeeJay. Well, I would like to see a better quality of sprites overall, but you're not professional either to ask you about it, so only hoping for the belt and OBVIOUS fixes now.
About what am I meaning by "Obvious Fixes"...
I, just out of curiosity, tried to use your sprites and to make an animation out of them. And... Well... I don't think his muscles are supposed to be THAT jumpy. Not pushing you though...

Belt!? You want his belt!? Lol

Idk if I will add it though. I thought I might just leave him in the kickboxing pants and with kickboxing pants, people don't usually wear belts. I agree too though, that the shoes make him look more unique. Should I add some custom colors to them? Was thinking of taking away the blue tint. Btw what do you mean by the muscles are too jumpy? Cyclops has pretty jumpy muscles, especially in his stance animation. What specifically are you talking about?

Just made this, I know it's not perfect, but it's an improvement, I think.  Took away the bright line on his waist, added a line to his legs (not really noticeable) and tried to make the muscles less jumpy. Let me know what you think:

More chooz. Finished his dodge, so all of his specials are done. The animation on the top right is both his blocking and win pose animation (the last one on the right being his final win pose animation obviously). Almost done, should be finished in a couple weeks:
