You've improved. And you were good before.

That almost makes me want to come out of DBZ retirement (if it had been Cell i would SO be interested)

In M.U.G.E.N there is no magic button

They say a little knowledge is a dangerous thing, but it's not one half so bad as a lot of ignorance.

Well first off all thank you all for the great amount of interest here :D
Hehe Kratos sounds awesome, i've been respecting you for some time now XD
Yes ofcourse he should have some dbz-style, as long as he's still street-fighter-ish,
we can work this out together i think.

Sprites/animations that are finished are:
left hook punch
left hook uppercut
right gut punch (well 80%) finished)
blur kick
cartwheel kick (90% finished)
blast kick (90% finished)
roundhouse kick (90% finished)
hurrricane kick/super hurricane kick (special move)
boomerang kick
crouching low kick (but im not satisfied with that one)

stance
aerial guard
special landing
superjump (flip)
powering up

on my to do list are kamehameha (have2 sprites) and a reverse elbow blow.

I'll start on thebasics shortly, those are more important than attacks XD

this is good to hear dude. Best of luck with this character. Also, I'd like to throw in my application for coder as well.

Well Balthazar, if he's going to be street fighter-ish, I think he should be a four button character.

In my opinion, I think street fighter characters have some easy chains, and combos. So, Goku would be like that, but with a dbz style added to it.

If you want, we can talk more on msn, pm me if you like.

Street Fighter <-> 4 buttons ... ??? ... :thinking: ... Does not compute !

The number of buttons depend of how much Balthazar is ready to sprite too.

What I meant was, I think it would make sense to make him a 4 button character, so he would be easier to use.
I think street fighter is a pretty easy game, and if I recall correctly, some street fighter games are 4 buttons.

And looking at what he has sprited now, 4 buttons seems to fit.
In the end it's up for Balthazar, though 6 buttons would be fine too.

You don't play SF much do you?
SF has complex chains which pretty much revolve from 1 punch/kick/crouching attacks or various crouching pokes. A well known combo is 1 crouching punch > 1-3 crouching kicks then a special move. The only characters with easy chains are people like Akuma.
Kinda strange but I woke up today and her hand was on my ass cheek
I won't suspect anything though I'll take it she was sleeping and didn't notice
you should have flipped over slowly

SF2 = 6 buttons

I honestly think I can make it work out since I do own SF2 and can see where your going with the project.

::)

I suggested 4 buttons, but, like I said, 6 buttons is fine too.
Balthazar didn't specify how many buttons the character would use, so let's stop arguing about it.

Scirocco, I'm sure Balthazar will want to see some of your previous work before he decides to pick anyone to code the character.

As I read before, I think Balthazar already made his Goku for 6-buttons (see the list of sprites edited), so there's no be a problem here :P

Rest in peace, Toriyama-san...

Ghehe well ACTUALLY i had 4 buttons in mind, but they being weak attack, med attack, strong attack and ki attack.
More like Real Bout Fatal Fury. But 2 punch, 2 kick and one for ki attacks might work too.
Or if we're really going fatal fury/street fighter-ish then all of his ki attacks have to be in command moves
and not a seperate button for them. (He won't have TOO MANY ki attacks anyway given the direction i'm putting him in) He has a lot of moves already yes but most are for combo-purposes ^^

If you want to give him a real KOF/SF/CVS touch, then I'd advice for 2 punches and 2 kicks rather than having light/medium/strong/ki.
The Ki attacks can be performed with the usual qcf+P (or a Ki button, if that's really needed).

Or, it could be like in Groove on Fight or various MUGEN KOF chars: 2 punches, 2 kicks and the other 2 buttons for a overhead attack and roll/dodge

Rest in peace, Toriyama-san...

Holy crap! I know you from the DGZ Team website!

To me, I would prefer the 4 button layout with shortcuts for dodge and power charge. Anyway, I like the sprites.

Ghehe nice to know i was remembered by some people ^^.
I've been a good boy and been doing more basics then attacks this week, jumping and crouching is done.
Also some various tweaks, and i guess i pretty much settled on a 2 punches, 2 kicks moveset.

Super Saiyan has been used way too many times.
I would prefer a Kaioken Technique.
But that's up to the creator of GokuZ2. Keep up the good work,  Balthazar.  ;)

I was thinking that he'd only go Kaiyoken when he excecutes his ultimate move.
I'm not sure if i'd like an ingame-transformation or not, it's definitely not very street fighter-ish.
At this point i'd say it's up to the programmer, but personally i wouldn't bother with it just yet.
And no i wasn't planning on giving him any power-pole moves or anything.
Actually we could release multiple versions, this would be the Saiyan Saga version. Might have Kaiyoken then.
Later we could make Namek Saga version, with maybe a few moves altered, and perhaps Super Saiyan.
