I'm close to finishing Done with the Defenders.

It's a bit weird. It's fully centered around the awkward relationships between everyone, completely about the characters with just a bit of "let's stop the Hand from doing whatever they're doing" because what the Hand is doing isn't actually important. I'm not quite done with it but it looks like there's no demon, no dragon, no grandstanding, just the Hand trying to reach a goal that turns out to be very tiny and dumb, but somehow threatening to blow up the city over it for some reason. And because it's more about the relationships and the human side of everyone (even the Hand), it means there's a LOT of talk. That may not be for everyone's tastes, especially if you were hoping for some massive fights and city-wide battlefields.
Personally, I'm fine with how this is basically just having fun between the main characters of the previous series, but I'm sure this is definitely not what people were looking forward to. Actually, it kinda feels like the previous series were, just an introduction to the big name but nothing really important, this is just introducing the team-up... Which is bound to disappoint a lot of people.
The fights are a lot shorter, but they're intense enough, and while they're not amazing, they're well done enough, with better execution than the other series - if only because there are more parties involved, as in the 4 main guys who move independently but it still harmonize well.
edit - hmmm never mind I'm at the end of episode 7 and I might have said the "no dragon" bit a little early (still 7 full episodes out of 8 though)... although whatever it is is irrelevant to the rest of the series.
edit again after ep 8
Eh, after half an episode foreshadowing Daredevil disappearing, I was expecting it to open the path to some Shadowland-like story arc. Oh well.
So anyway, we've got Steel Serpent for Iron Fist S2, Daredevil is already moving on to something else, Jessica is back in business, and Luke may lead to some Hero for Hire story at least in the same capacity that Luke showed up in Jessica S1. Punisher S1 is for the end of this year, what's for next year ? At least Jessica S2 I guess ?
One more edit
Uh hang on, we never did learn what the fuck the black sky was a prophecy about... If it was just brining the Iron Fist to the gate, couldn't anything have been fine ? And clearly we'll never get an answer.
If I struggled to the end of my determination, to the end of my way of life with my followers, if the result is ruin, then this ruin is inevitable. Grieve. Shed tears. But you cannot regret.
