If something has a type immunity in the source games, it translates to half damage here. So basically Zapdos will only be weak to Ice and Rock, and will take reduced damage from Ground (even if Electric's super effective factors into the calculation, the total will still be less than 1.0x damage).Oh and I finally won my first raid (the cap got reduced to Lv. 25)!!! I found that as a Lv. 33 player with decent Pokemon, I can solo a 2-Star raid (3 is close, but I could probably pull it off with a second player).Temporary name until I come up with something better, but yeah, this was the bad boy I fought.
Just to clarify, I was talking about how electric types are weak to ground, but since flying is immune to it, the damage you will take in Pokemon Go will be less regardless of whether or not the type advantages/disadvantages cancel each other out.If they don't, Zapdos only takes 0.5x damage from Ground. If they do, it's probably going to be treated as a regular resistance.
I just find it weird that the whole appeal of Pokemon Go is going outside to catch Pokemon and exploring the world around you, and somehow there's people who ignore the whole premise of the game by staying home and spoofing their way to other continents.

I really hope they figure out how to deal with the spoofing. Haven't had much motivation to fight in gyms when they're taken over by invisible people.
I totally agree with you. Where I live, it's basically spoofy-land. All the gyms are owned by the same group of 10 folks which are retaking the gyms in a matter of seconds, no matter which gym or where you overtake it. Not to mention that they are perfectly aligned in having the best defenders in every gym at max level, making the battles really challenging to the point they are worthless unless you want to spend 15+ revives and even more life potions
