Progress?

Still waiting on my friend to get his screen recorder (it was mainly due to him finishing his semester in university why it was taking a little bit)

Oh, hey. I'd signed up because I've developed the itch to propose an AI tournament of my own (partially inspired by your first good ol' AI tournament, though I'd seen it before you organized any more), but it looks like there's already one in the works.

Would you be opposed at all, Amidweiz, if I proceeded with trying to organize my own, or would you prefer I hold off until you've finished your own? I don't want to step on anyone's toes, is all.

Yea that's fine if you wanna have your own mugen AI tournament, I'm not dictating anything here. Sorry if I'm taking awhile with starting this tournament but my IRL friend is quite busy currently. I might record some of the AI matches just with the screen recorder (probably with the characters that are less intensive for mugen and the recorder) but with this, do expect visible periods of lag. (Mainly with mugen)

lol doublepost, anyways my friend has brought his PVR with which now I'll have to set it up with my computer. One thing I wanted to see with how I'm going to do the winners and losers bracket is either:

Do the winners bracket till round 4 then do the losers bracket till round 7

or

Do each bracket by rounds

I'll put a poll to see which one you guys prefer

Good News:
I've got the PVR from my friend

Bad News:
It doesn't want to detect my laptop going into 1280 x 720 and upscaling the recording to 1920 x 1080, which the recorder only records 60fps at 720 and below. Even If I make the resolution below 720 the software still stretches it to 1080  >:(

Is there any reason why you are using a PVR rather than a software screen recorder like OBS?

I've tried OBS and I can't really get a stable 60fps out of it (I might adjust some settings to see if I can achieve that but most of the time it gives the "High CPU encoding" warning when I try to record with it) I know that the PVR (hauppauge PVR 2) can achieve 60fps at 1280 x 720, but most of the software that is compatible for it I tried kicks up the resolution to 1920 x 1080 even when I set the laptops resolution to 1280 x 720. If you're wondering I'm using the HDMI port from the laptop to the PVR.

EDIT: I think I've found the sweet spot for OBS albeit the quality might not be as good but a solid 60fps anyways, though I'd still like to know if anyone knows how to get 1280 x 720 with a PC with the hauppauge PVR 2 then I can have some high quality footage for the tournament

I'm sure that you went to this site but just in case here is a link to the PC setup for your PVR just in case you didn't.

Spoiler, click to toggle visibilty

Yea checked that out already, still does the same thing. I'd might just have to buy a 1080 60fps recorder in the future but I've decided to use good old bandicam, it might look a bit jepgish but it works for what I want (I've already recorded the winners bracket, just need to do the rest ;P )
