CPS2 Converting sprite help.

If you rip sprites i´ll rip your code

Ok pals i draw this lovely clown sprite as an example but my main problem is how to make it more cps2 styled shadows, i already tried to study the old capcom style drawing for scenarios on many games but i can not define how to make it more appealing.

Can someone be kind enought to guide me on how to master this style, or help me to identify the errors on my draw process?

Thank you so much for the link, was very usefull for starters like me on that kind of art but it seems im not skilled enought for those amazing pixel art scenarios so maybe i will drop the general idea i had in mind or just use a more simple aproaxing meanwhile i learn some pixel art but thank you for your guide.
