Doing yet another stage... and this time, this one's coming out quite well!But... I used images and traced them... I used one from an episode that had the perfect perspective to be used for the stage, and the statue from another source because I mirrored the stage. And this was the result. Now, I'll try adding in spectators for the stage. (Now plannin' on adding in Kent Brockman and the TV crew in the background, talking about the fight)And colors. And music...If anyone are gonna reply about this... you may.
Here are some of the parts the characters will be placed before making them become cheering animated sprites. But I still think there's still more characters to add in this stage...I also put in two shadows of KFM to show where they're standing.
I was plannin' on addin' the shading as well. Hm... not sure about the moving clouds...I think I got an idea on what do with the clouds...
What about adding Kearney and Jimbo like the new intro where they're ripping Jebediah's Springfield head off but with a loop where it'll never fall off?
It'll be too complicated... I also was gonna add in a bird on the statue's finger.Even if I did try... It just won't fit.
MrPr1993 said, July 23, 2014, 01:43:27 amOh ,dear...did I made the stage's background a little too big...?I think he mean if you compare the statue with the one from the screenshot you posted the BG is kinda big.BUT thats not exactly a problem since you can size the stage down via stage localcoords very easy.
Oh-right! Well... ya see, the images of the statue I found had different sizes and bases (the bottom part of the statue) and ground...Look at the one above and the people's sizes here. This one here's what I used as reference for the stage.
I made changes on the stage! (Man! I should have had updated this already)I made the stage 20 bit larger (useful for zooming stages for 1.1, made the statue's base thinner, and added the plaque (I might change the text's font later, though)) And I still need to add more coloring and shading. I'll do that later.Since I made those changes, I also made the players go a little closer to the statue, making it look smaller. Also, I might add more things, such as a police car behind Wiggum (since he's on the road... I better fix where Wiggum should be), and the Channel 6 van, and a Duff blimp in the background. Not sure what else to add though. I hope I manage to finish this!
I don't know a damn thing about stages, but can you prepare a bunch of NPCs, then use VarRandoms to choose just a few of them each time the stage loads?Awesome looking stage
You should take a look to The Simpsons Hit & Run game to see the perfect proportions.Anyways, nice stage! I shall put H&R Bart's Theme as a BGM.

This is one of the coolest stage WIPs I've come across. Everything is looking great and I look forward to the final result. While it may be too soon to ask, do you see yourself doing any other famous Simpsons landmarks??
This is looking very nice. I'm eager to see the final result. Good luck!altoiddealer said, August 14, 2014, 02:29:40 amI don't know a damn thing about stages, but can you prepare a bunch of NPCs, then use VarRandoms to choose just a few of them each time the stage loads?Awesome looking stageUnfortunately, stages don't have that level of control. You'd have to code those things into the characters.
