Admittedly, I've been defeated by poorly planned tactics before, so no, I don't take offense to it.  All it boils down to is that you need more practice.

Aerial Wise cause if so you ain't getting out. Im MVC2 you should'nt lose to noobs at all. The games too cheesy for them to even have a chance so he must know how to play somewhat or using upper tier characters..

My biggest surprise -
The best fighting game players use poking a lot

I always try to finish a fight in style with a DM/Super move, but I have been pwned in numerous occasions by expert players that use the speed of weak attacks to annihilate my hopes to win :sadgoi:

Playing to win and having fun are two different things.  People playing outside of tournaments should realize that. :P

At this point in time (and it may sound absurd) I only play to see the sprites, so I use all the moves to see animations :D ... :-X

Snk games are good for this. Random Blows just happen to stop you at a crutial point in the match. For Example doing a super only to be hit out of it by a normal move attack that just happen to come out.

  • Now your gonna feel my hooks! OH YEAH!!
I've been beaten by average people, but never noobs. Once they keep doing the same thing, I resort to cheap tactics. If they are challenging, I make a change of pace and fight honorably. :D

Soul Calibur 2. I know it's a very, very technical and deep game, but until you get to the point of absolute mastery (tournament level), a first-timer in an easy character can beat an experienced player in a hard character pretty reliably. You're sitting there tossing out well-memorized moves, combos, and dodging tactics, and he's just mashing. Mashing's got unpredictability on its side, if nothing else; it no longer even becomes a psychology game if mashing takes place, which is hard to get used to when you're accustomed to seeing people using, you know, moves actually appropriate for the situation.

I don't really have problems with KOF, but that's probably because of my character choices. I almost always combo into a super, unless it's very specialized (like a grab).

It's always good to be able to use a character people might consider "crappy" or "useless" extremely well for such situations, especially if you know what characters or tactics are broken or overly cheap in the game and what such "crappy" characters can get around them (i.e. Cable's gun? Damn annoying. Try Servbot). Just know your own weaknesses too.

Either way, if you know what you're doing you might not only crush the opponent but might make them think that other tactics could work better.

...either that or they'll just be an asshole about it and storm off.
