Edit: Hwa Jai won. The latter part of this topic will now cover his progress.VSTrying to pull out the meaningful discussion topics out of the giant blog. KOFE's roster is still not finalized. Duck King got the boot in favor of Tizoc. With KOF XIII coming out though, it'd be interesting to add Hwa Jai in the mix. Be in the same vein as Mature and Vice. Same sprites more or less, different movesets. In order to meet KOFE standard, he'd need 1 taunt, 3 victory poses and 2 intros (a special intro with Joe as one of these). No problems there since Joe has a whole bunch of extra stuff. His basic strong attacks would have to differ from Joe and he'd need two unique throws (I'm thinking Joe's FF3 throw and an overhead toss). I'm sure in addition to Joe's sprites, someone could also mod Sagat's SVC sprites for a few additional animations. [E] also suggested some conversions from Guy Tendou could help out with some unique movesets.* He would have a slide command move* Tiger Kick (Straight Version). Animations exist for this move.* Air Tiger Kick (Straight and Angled Version). Animations exist for the straight version.* Rising Tiger. Weak goes straight up. Strong takes a step with auto guard. No animations for this one.* Exploder Combo. Would finish off with an exploding leaping uppercut. Animations exist for this one* Force Punch. Punch with energy that null projectiles. No animations for this one.* Mega Tiger Kick (could be done in the air). Animations exist for this move.* Tiger Breakshot. Counter that juggles with a 3 hit Rising Tiger before breaking the opponents back. No animations so far.* Exploding Tiger (multiple flaming kicks into a flaming rising tiger). No animations.* Final punch. Delayable to the point of unblockability.*Question:*Who would you rather see make it in. Tizoc or Hwa Jai? I'm kinda indifferent since both offer me the opportunity to spread my creative wings in terms of moves. Personally Hwa feels like a better KOF fit, but with Goro out, I wouldn't mind another grappler.
In all honesty, we already have a big, tough wrestler: Raiden. No sense adding in Tizoc when we already have the original SNK grappler. In fact, he was originally going to be 03's new masked wrestler, not Tizoc. Besides, he's already been in 03, XI, and various KOF MUGEN games, whereas Hwa Jai hasn't been seen in playable form since the original Fatal Fury in 1991. And consider that - outside of KOFXIII which hasn't been released yet - he hasn't been given a chance to develop or be fleshed out more, whereas a number of other SNK characters have. The FF1 characters that went past that single game were, compared to their more recent appearances, quite lame, but look at them now. I'd say they eventually turned out quite wonderfully. So how about we give ol' Hwa that same chance?
Hwa Jai.Tizoc ain't got dat knee. Also for Hwa's sprites just take Misamu's KOF Hwa Jai, he has great sprites.
Besides I like Hwa Jai, I think Tizoc is a better idea.even if you alread have Raiden, Tizoc is totally diferent (he is faster then Raiden, for example).

Hai Jai has had a new moveset thought up for him, and would have a different style of play then Joe. Then there's the other two, and while Raiden and Tizoc aren't clones, they're called grapplers for a reason.
To be fair, I haven't really posted Tizoc's new moveset. Most stuff would be the same 'cept his Active Tupon would become a DM, his Big Fall would be HSDM only and he'd gain two new moves. Goro's Judo style couter and a running grab suplex. Changes would make him considerably different than his current version.
Okay, here's what I'll do. I'll create a mock up of Hwa Jai using Joe sprites. He'll be a full character (like an alternate Joe). I'll port the sprites from Rin's Hwa for all the already completed sprites for the character. Then anyone is free to pick up this "Hwa" and convert the remaining sprites. If someone does, I'll add him to KOFE.
MC2 said, May 09, 2010, 08:25:09 pmI'll repeat, Misamu of Mugen China made some nice sprites you could use for Hwa.That's the version I found, and the version Swiper probably used to make that nice edit at the top of the page.
MC2 said, May 09, 2010, 08:25:09 pmI'll repeat, Misamu of Mugen China made some nice sprites you could use for Hwa.But I guess sprites don't exist for him then. And as far being a clone goes, might as well not have Kyo and Shingo, Mature and Vice, Ralf and Clark or any two characters that play even remotely the same.
I think Walt meant officially sprites don't exist. I wouldn't worry about the cloning aspect. The look would be somewhat similar, but the movesets are always different with my standard. You can look at KOFE Rugal and Adel for an example of similar, but different.
tizocafter seeing the way you'd do your own renditions of specialsit'd be amazing how you would do big fall
how about another idea, and another team of very old snk characters which made a return in the last 3 KOF games?Like Hwa (kof 13), Raiden (kof 12) and Duck king (kof 11) ? all are more or less veterans all are from the fatal fury series and all of them werent in snk games as playable characters since over 10 years nowi consider cvs/2 a capcom game.
