okay I want to make a mugen intro from a video clip from youtube.
Is there any software that aloud you to turn a video clips into PCX format transparent a lot faster without doing it manually ?
and also tell the software that I want to be 1280x720 size pcx formal ?

you see I try using VirtualDub extract the video clip and turn into all 4755 png format images but the problem is that each of the images was a total of 4 GB in size with the 4755 png images
I want to know if there a other way to lower the size and that can to fit easy into the fighter factory 3.0 and so I can code the intro

video I want to crop this  is intro here

Is this infranview software is free ? and can it do pcx format and make all the images render transparency from the video ?

Hey, OldGamer. It's been a while.

I use VLC media player to convert videos into png format. I'm not sure if it converts into pcx format too. it doesn't exactly say no from what I see.

With VLC media, you can determine how many frames of the video you want to skip, but it lowers the quality of the images.

yeah I got the VLC media as well and its did the same thing as VirtualDub by giving me 4755 images png format  without the transparency or support of the
pcx format

Like I said, you can reduce the amount of images vlc media produces.

In my version at least, you go advanced settings, video, filters, scene filters, and change recording ratio to a bigger number I think.

I can do it for you if you like (png though). It might not come out so good though since it's a 1 minute video. I usually do it to 20 sec videos and less.

if you can teach me how its done the right way with VLC media  I can do it my self with your teaching on how to make a 1 min video into a short time and then I dont have to deal with so many frames per images that be super awesome. this way I can render them my self and transparent them into pcx. I don't mind the hard work. just don't want to deal with over 4k of png images format per frame xD

Probably for mugen 1.0 and less.

By the way, VLC media does let you extract the images as PCX. I just tested it and It didn't come out so bad. I just don't know about the transparent thing.

I used videos such as this to teach me. It's a fast tutorial.

Why PCX?
you see if you run Figther Factory 3.0 with  the png format with out being Indexed.what will happen is your mugen will run and load very slow. HOW EVER the best way to run your Intro better by Indexed them as pcx format is function a lot better. A png or pcx that not indexed I call them None Render format. and Most people dont understand that if you run png or pcx that not indexed make the mugen 1.1 setting a lot harder to load. let say you dont want to spend 1 or 2 hours of indexed all 120 images right ? and you take the 120 none render images and you put them on the  Fighter Factory 3.0 and you save your project as mugen 1.1 8/24/ 32 bit save format right ?

well this is where come and mess thing up really badly. As soon you run the mugen 1.1 with the None render format threw the .SFF you get a Annoying Loading WHITE screen. This Annoying loading White screen will show as soon you run the mugen.exe from the mugen 1.1 and that  can be very annoying to wait the white screen to finish done loading threw the intro.  but its depends on  how many None render Images you saved and added to the .SFF because  the longer its load the Bigger the size on the .SFF And so you have to wait for the screen to load for good 1.5 min to 2 min or even  more. But if you have the PCX or png that is indexed and render in the right way the mugen 1.1 its will load the screen A LOT FASTER for being render and the .SFF less small size is be smaller If your creator you understand that always render your images and always save them as pcx. Sure PNG format Render is good too but I rather do it OLD SCHOOL :)

120 None render images THAT IS save as mugen 1.1 on the .SFF the size is 120MB
120 Indexed render Images That is save as mugen 1.0 on the .SFF the size is 50MB
120 Indexed render Images That is save as mugen BETA on the .SFF the size is 45MB

Exactly what ShinZankuro said, use Irfanview to convert images to pcx files using a batch process. Its free and easy to use.
You can also use rad video tools to convert video files into images first.

I understand all that. But if you index you lose color quality. My game uses mainly non indexed art at 24 and 32 bit colors for everything but the intro. Yeah it takes a little while to load but not enough to justify losing color quality. So if you don't care about the indexing losing image quality do you still prefer PCX over PNG?

yes I rather have pcx over png. this way my screen pack easy to run for any low spec pc and still have its on stander size :D without worry about it :) check out my mica screen pack see for your self xD

you have your way of doing thing and I have mind. if people in this world have super computer they can run any screen pack that not indexed but not everyone have gaming pc or super computer to run custom made screen pack that are not Indexed and some people don't have computer that support OpenGL and because that the real reason why some mugen fans having trouble running mugen setting to OpenGL when the images are not indexed they get a black screen so they prefer the low value setting like winmugen or mugen 1.0 or 1.1. when I make my screen pack I want everyone to use it with out no worry's. yeah its pcx with low color quality but everyone have there own way of doing things and what they like to create and what they want to do with it. you can call me old fashion on mugen creation.I rather have someone use my screen pack and make it easy for everyone :D

I hope I did my best to answer your question on why I prefer pcx format :D also I love to see your work :D

I understand completely. But I just can't take away from the quality of anything I'm working with to accommodate users who are running Mugen with a potato. They either keep up or they can't. Especially with my Guilty Gear project. You got to keep the 32bit/24bit colors. It's a must.

Were you asking to see my work? Anyways here's my contributions so far:
