Super Mario by ShinRyoga/AilynnMoore, still keep him in most of my rosters.Although the VS style Megaman Volnutt by MAITAKE might've been the first character I actually added into the roster, but Mario was the first character I downloaded for sure.
Probably Bowser by KY-Shanxi despite of being a cheap character was one of the few best version of Bowser since those times.

Eri Hasumi by ZSM, been watching Captain Vulcan's videos before even getting into MUGEN and was inspired to try out the character. Turned out I wasn't that great with her, so, I opted to Sennou-Room's version instead.
The very first character I had? Well, it be honest I am not so sure anymore, but I reckon it has to be one of the Felicias from Darkstalkers that existed back then (forgotten the author). Old Pikachu came on shortly afterward followed by N64Mario & TMasta's Pocket Mario and Luigi. And I suspected that Yuki Nagato from Haruhi Suzumiya came along around the same time since she was the one that got me into MUGEN in the first place.
First characters I ever downloaded were NMario's Pocket Mario and Luigi, followed shortly by all his other characters.
The 1st character I remember downloading was a KOF '95 Ralf, thanks to a friend I saw him playing Mugen for the first time, my mind was blown away watching a KOF '95 Ralf versus a KOF '94 Heavy D.
