Hello,

Thank you for reading my topic. I am putting together a sort of "best of" compilation. It has always been my dream to have one of these that wasn't filled with what makes mugen games a mugen game....so that is to say, cheap chars, unfair bosses etc. etc. I will now show some screenshots

Made my first intro today and it's for Kyo Kusanagi of K.O.F!

I will eventually get to everyone but doubt it will be done in time of beta release.

This was a fun project to do while getting ready to do more portrait work.....which I really don't want to do.

Tonight I will be releasing my edit of(easy chars) "Oren Ishii" Of KIll Bill fame.

For the those who are scratching their heads, this is O-ren Ishii:

Now, my concept going into this was simply.....O-ren is a normal human being and she didn't train with a legendary fighter or fight demons or any of those things so how does she belong in my "War of the Immortals?"

Simple, she's an assasin with a legendary sword. "The finest steal ever carved by human hands."

The Hitori Hanzo sword.

I will now ask you to view my showcase video before I go more in depth:

I fixed all of the hitboxes and hurtboxes. (let me tell you they were disgustingly bad)

I then boosted her power way above normal and this was done because of her sword.

As I stated earlier. O-ren is just an assasin so her health is ridiculously low. One good combo and she's done!

I also changed her projectile to be a hadoken!

Her portraits are set to my screenpack(logansam) so there is that to be aware of.

Judging from the video her attacks are really slow, you could speed them up a little more so they can transition smoother. And she's pretty overpowered, you could lower the damage she gives.

They're slow on purpose so that if you get hit by her then you deserve the life she takes.

I could lower the damage she gives but that's kind of the point of the character.

I can agree to that but unfortunately I only have like 10 frames of sprite to work with and I don't make sprites myself :(

Working with what I have, this was the best I could do.

I can release today. I said I would release this weekend. I would personally prefer continuing to work on it until Thursday and releasing it as a Christmas present to the world.

However, I said I could release today so if more than 5 posters comment telling me to release today I will release today and call it a "Beta Version .80" or some shit.

I would rather wait but it's up to y'all

I tried to get chars that fought well against each other so A.I was the main concern.

It's a generic "tournament" type plot. The idea is trying to find the best from all of the various universes. Thus "war of the immortals." Oro mentioning it doesn't matter at all, it was just a small tidbit type thing and explains why you have to fight ryu first. I'm not sure if we can program a mid-level boss with a cut-scene but if we can please let me know how!

I put the info about Ken because I'm trying to get as much of the characters personality so that fans of the character can get invested.

This is my first week even messing around with intros and I think ken's is quite good. I'll admit that Jin's needs more work but that was my first time even attempting it in fighter factory 3.

ABOUT O-REN:

The most important thing for me in this endeavor is to make a mugen that actually practices and teaches true fighting game mechanics. O-ren was a test and judging by your response my test was a success!

I wanted players to "play" the game. Trust me when I tell you O-ren was much much worse:

She's also hidden and not in arcade mode because I want those who are not familiar with fighting games to play as her. She is op but she is also insanely weak and that makes it so YOU HAVE to play the game like a fighting game.

You have to think about where you are on the screen, where you're opponent is and what your best option is for the moment.

She was made like that on purpose :)
