So I recently download mugen 1.0 rc8 and haven't done anything to it yet. I wanted to install this life bar to it. So I download it, extracted it, and replace it with the files in the mugen 1.0 rc8 folder. When I launched up mugen and went into battle, the same default life bars was still there.

Is there another step I'm missing? Please Help Someone?

You can also place the folders in a seperate folder so u dont have to delete it. So u can place ur MvC3 lifebars in a folder called "MvC3" but im assuming u placed it in "data"
so all you have to do is edit the system.def file, which is usually in the "mugen1" folder so edit that one
So change
fight = data/mugen1/fight.def
to
fight = data/fight.def
Its as simple as that...hopefully

MAAAAAXXXXXXX! in MvC3 is 5 stocks.  Most characters only go up to 3.  It's either this way or have people who use 5 stocks get MAAAAAXXXXXXX! when they're not really MAAAAAXXXXXXX!.

on the whole lifebars not working with protomanx's screenpack
its cause the screenpack was built for the 320x240 localcoord not the 640x480
and how are we supposed to fix this?

Simple you don't fix it
Just use a screenpack of the localcoord 640x480 like epoche of anarchy or Hloader's screenpack

the top image shows quickly how to create portraits for lifebar.

you'll need a sprite of the character with twice the normal size, then go get the frames and put in the position shown, the frame and then delete everything off it leaving only the image.

ready, the portrait is done.

the frames are included with the lifebar

I just figure it out at last  ;P
What you mean is that I need to add to a new sprite on every character (which is the 9000,3 and 9000,4)

But all I need to do is just change the sprites on the fight.def so that it will show the standard 9000,0 portrait. So my problem is solved.

Thanks for helping me out, and nice job on your creations!

EDIT: How do you combine the molding shape and the character sprites? Is there a tutorial for molding the portrait? I'm actually new to this.
