juuni taisen , i like this kind of story short and focused on what's happening yet still leaves intrigue for the watchers  both the characters and the world they live in.
the only thing i hate about this is why the fuck are they wearing those stupid costumes. ox , monkey and the twins' costume looks cool the rest look awful especially rat , dog and chicken.

i just finished watching tiger and bunny and boy was it a fun ride! easily one of the best superhero animes out there.
if you want to watch it, watch the first movie (the beginning) first then watch the series. it was kinda weird of them to leave out some pretty important characters introductions for the movie and not include them in the series.

I've had Tiger and Bunny in my backlog since like forever. Think I'll finally watch it now I got time.

Speaking of backlogs, is anyone up to date on Hippo? I never caught up on the manga after watching HnI:Rising but after hearing all the buzz about chapter 1202 I'm curious. When does the whole "Hippo is brain damaged" arc start?

It's been a while, just before this match (which just ended pretty brutally) Ippo was off the gym for a month because they figured out there was something wrong while he was coming up with the new Dempsey, so that was after his world match vs Gonzales.
That defeat was 150 chapters ago, and they were working on the new Dempsey 50 chapters ago. ... Chapter 1151~1154 is when they get suspicious, according to the chapter titles on wikipedia.

"hippo" I figured out you were talking about hajime no ippo only when you said brain damage.

(My sister and I call it the "the anime without hippopotamuses (hippopotami?)" because in Spanish the word for hippopotamus (hipopótamo) sounds like ippo-po-ta-maw. Hell of Freudian slip there.)

Don't remember where I saw it but I watched 3 shorts called "Batman of Shanghai" which I think was the precursor of this animated movie. I just like the idea of an alternate universe version of such a cool franchise.

interesting choice for an ova, i thought they will reintroduce the jatkosota school instead, seeing they were the most popular team in the recent movie.
 anyway i would love GuP to continue 'til the world series.

Got around to striking Scrapped Princess of my backlog. Caught my interest mostly on the back of being frequently compared to Chaika: Coffin Princess which was made by the same author. There's a lot similarities between the two off them: fantasy setting that's secretly sci-fi, fugitive female protagonist protected by a couple of capable bodyguards, a group sworn to chase them while being racked with self doubt among other things.
I like the show, but there were issues I had with it that really dragged it down. Pacifica is not a likable protagonist. Her only virtue is that she's the chosen one and needs to be protected, yet she's just a brat with no combat ability other than a convenient one that gets used when the plot deems it necessary. The pacing also gets bogged down in the second half due to an amnesia induced story detour that didn't seem to accomplish much. If I had to put both princess stories head to head I'd pick Chaika, but will still say they're both recommendable, though flawed in their own way.
Addendum: It's about time for huge shoulder pads to become vogue again.

I liked it, thoughj ust like when I watched underwater rayromano, I did not know abot the scifi subplot  , so I ejoyed it as it unraveled.

there's a recent one that's about ships called haifuri, have you watched GuP? it's the best out of all of them and they've got the good sound tracks

I can't think of any other cute girls doing military things style show other than the two mentioned. GuP is definitely the one you want to watch, not that Hai Furi is bad. Stella Women’s Academy and Sabagebu about air-soft survival games which is just a step away from that. The former is more of comedy though.
