Hello everyone, Team Z2 is proud to announce our next full character to be used in Mugen and more so in Hyper Dragon Ball Z, the wicked fused kid Gotenks! Check out the video below, and link to Youtube to read the full video description of the video for a ton more information!

Congrats to Daeron (main spriter), JustNoPoint (main coder), the rest of TeamZ2 and the testers on Discord for this latest crazy addition! Gotenks is loaded with a ton of fun stuff, so enjoy!
And a big thanks to all of YOU who supported us all this time and have been enjoying our works; you're the reason we do this!

Gotenks comes equipped with AI coded by JNP and a movelist in his files.

Even though we spent weeks, months testing him to the limit, there's always a chance a bug or issue may occur. Please feel free to bring any feedback or bug reports to the creators!

I'm so happy you guys are enjoying him! I put a ton of time into this guy and so did Daeron and the rest of the team. This is pretty much my magnum opus. And the 1st char I started basically from scratch. There was a bit of sff and air started. I started him before Piccolo so in a way this is my 1st char too. And the char I first signed up to make. Let me know of any bugs and I'll do my best to resolve them! And have fun!!!

Neat. Feedback time:
- Is he supposed to say his "What a loser" winquote after losing the last round? Seems rather odd, even by his standards.
- When he is attacked while slamming into the ground during "Dynamite Headcrusher", he stays a bit below the ground.
- When he's KOed in SSJ2 mode, he starts the next round as regular Gotenks. However, if he loses by time out, he'll start the next round still in SSJ2 mode. Intentional?

He's... definitely interesting, but I'll need some time to really get the hang of him. So far, I both love and am terribly frustrated by his uniqueness.  :pwn:

There's a configure file in the character that allows you to either turn the SSJ3 port on or off, as well as a SSJ3 port X/Y positioning code.  Just open the configure file in .txt and you'll find this:

Is this his cheap ko? Because if so it's intended though he should say "Is that all you got" as he does a strut then falls down similar to Ric Flair

Looked okay to me but I can move the axis up just a bit I suppose =)

Yes, this was talked about with the testers. I even had to make special code for the colors to turn in his emo icons when he returned to normal mode. Normal Goku's was the same way.

I'm pretty sure that's not what's supposed to happen. However, I made a mistake explaining how to trigger this. You have to hit Gotenks after he bounced back to the ground when he's still rubbing his head.

Ah, okay. I just thought it looked odd how he depowered in the timeout animation and then was right back to SSJ2 in the next round, that's why I mentioned it. I'm not complaining. :)

Something seems to have gone wrong when the pallette files for him were compiled, cause when I load them in Fighter Factory they're either only partially there or are flipped horizontically and vertically. Might not be that important for everyone, but it is for someone like me who makes his own pallettes and/or chooses others from the files. Could this be fixed please? thx

Just realised it was due to them being in there only as .png files. I am currently converting them to act. files and will upload those later for those that are interested

I tried to change Gotenks' palette for "Start+ a" to the one labelled as 068ssjgod-ethanthehuman-jnpedit,but it doesn't seem to work. I changed the value to 68 in his config file in the right section,but In Game he just uses his default Palette

I love it, awsome character guys!!! congratulation to the coder and the spriter, so much talent there. And of course to all the team for still doing this great project and give us this happiness in the process.
Just one thing, recently I discovered a bug, when Babidi use the curse skull in Gotenks he freezes and can not be hit during the whole game.

Passing by to congratulate all of you for the wonderful release. :)

The teasers were inspiring, and the character obviously doesn't disapoint. He's not easy to "master" (I can't really say master at this point, having only tested all his moves since the last time I played a beta version), but it looks like he really has a lot of stuff going on to surprise the opponent and mess with him in some hilarious manner.

it's really amazing TeamZ2 work, both in codes and sprites. The only thing I did not like very much was the voice they used at Gotenks, it's very strange. Other than that, it's an exceptional job, you're the best mugen creator today.

I just tested it, it doesnt seem to appear on 1280 x 720, but it does appear on 640 X 480.

The reason it doesn't seem to appear at the bottom is because you have to adjust it's positioning.  Open the config.txt file and look for this:

Amazing how you bring out the playfulness of gotenks perfectly. Great job! Thankfully mugen still has awesome creators like yall. Not only awesome, but the smart kind of awesome.

I have an idea where during the super galactica donut, player can input command to enter an uncontrollable state that actually does the nostalgic final slam dunk, creating a huge hole in the ground.

You guys has some amazing sprite and code...you guys really capture the dbz spirit...especially coming from the point of view of someone like me who know slim to nil about the ip...I get the context from the hard work put into it all..thank you all....I look foward most to tien cuz he looks like  a shaolin master

Just to be clear you noticed he doesn't use act files to change his palettes, correct? You need to edit the palettes in his config.

That particular one was not finished or added into Gotenks. It has been added for the next version though. It will come out soon.

And we loved making it!

it's really amazing TeamZ2 work, both in codes and sprites. The only thing I did not like very much was the voice they used at Gotenks, it's very strange. Other than that, it's an exceptional job, you're the best mugen creator today.
I really enjoyed PM Seymour's take. I thought he sounded quite a lot like the english dub voices. And his acting was perfect IMO

Following some testing against randomly selected fighters (one of whom was Z2 Goku), I've nothing more constructive to suggest than possibly tweaking the placement of "Galactica Donut" (which as it stands, appears to revel the opponent's knees when the waist would seem more becoming of a constriction technique).  Aside from that, fantastic work, gentlemen. :tipshat:

PS: And might I add, Buu was fleshed out beautifully. :8):

This's fun character .I like playing him alot .Amazing character  and thank for making .I think Super Volleyball attack should add some damage when the ball explosion .

If some poor bloke cool dude makes a patch for it, and we like the quality of it, we'll surely include it in the character in an update. We decided not to spend time on these things anymore, only focusing on the original recorded voice.

I can handle that.

No problem, but talking about bugs:
Using Exit Burst almost as cross-up there's a visual bug - 2 portals. The same goes when you use against regular chars (even on the floor in this case).
Take a look:

2 portals isn't a bug but the way you see one inside the other is. I won't make a patch for this soon since it's not gamebreaking but it'll get fixed in a future version!
