Super Street Fighter 2 NES: DLC PreviewFor those who didn't know, I've been working in the background on a few things for Bia's SF2Nes project. Most of it so far has been a few animations here and there and some stage work, but unknown until recently is that I also had the idea of making a few playable characters that normally wouldn't have been touched. The first of them is the recently introduced Turkish oil wrestler, Hakan. He along with the rest of the DLC are currently being set up for the next build of the game.As for who follows Hakan, that is something I've been puzzling over, as I've got a few ideas but no decisive answer as to where exactly to start. There are actually a handful of interesting characters that would be fun to add in somewhere, but trying to work on them all at once would just be silly. Therefore, I'm leaving it to the result of the poll to decide who becomes the 2nd DLC character to be worked on. The poll will run for the course of the month with the winner being revealed at the conclusion of April.
DO NOT BE SAKURA, BE DUDLEYDO NOT BE GEN, BE DUDLEYDO NOT BE YUN, BE DUDLEYDO NOT BE ADON, BE DUDLEYDUDLEY IS NUMBER ONE YOU IDIOTAlso that Hakkan edit is awesome, Juri would also be cool to see.
since there are also a few snk characters in the game..how about changing the project slowly to "Capcom Vs SNK Zero" ? i mean..it can evolve...
GBK667: I think you mean all of one Fatal Fury character. There was some talk a while back about a SF vs FF spinoff game, but any discussion on that is for another time.
He's just a guest lost vagrant, lost among the crew, looking forward to battle fowl. There might be another one, there might not.
This game needs more dignity. In other words:Jango said, April 02, 2010, 05:29:57 amDUDLEY IS NUMBER ONE YOU IDIOT
O.o Nice sprite dude xP if yu want i can help with a few Nes sprites since ive found some Guy and Cody ones i can re sprite em and stuff
Voted Gen, since with him being in the oldest SF (fits the retro vibe the game gives ouit) + having an interesting playstyle makes him a good adition to this.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say that there is some mild interest in Dudley. Hah!Hien: Interesting offer, but most of the stuff ends up scratch sprited anyway so the old stuff is mostly just used as reference material. Also, don't think Cody would work unless we got him out of those silly jail clothes.Jango: I was actually very close to picking up a copy of Mighty Final Fight this weekend, but I just didn't have the cash to get that and Bubble Bobble. It's most unfortunate.
O.o Cody's right there out of his jail clothes xD but still handcuffed, and Guy on the side to.ive been workin on a Alternate SFF pack for SF2Nes project as you can see the left is the original and the right is my own (Found some Small SF sprites and respriting alot of them)
Your Ken looks really different from theirs (Style wise). But I guess that would be okay if you plan on spriting everyone.
Hien: Yeah, those would be more at home on the GBA. The average SF2Nes sprite clocks in at around 10 colors total, while the lowest color count in your samples is 17 with the rest going well into 20+ colors. Not to mention the scale is larger. -YZXTRM- has it right that it would only work if everyone got resprited, which just isn't likely as that defeats the point of keeping things closer to the original bootleg look to begin with.
Well i do plan on respriting every char, which shouldn't be a big problem for me but, i can easily put the colors to about 10 instead of 20+. as for Ken there would be maybe like 5 more extra colors to show the color seperation with the gloves and hair, belt.
