Just trying to keep the thread alive, i was being serious, tho. And like this Aldo dude said, it was just my opinion :-/
Made an official release post for my entry, but I'll quote the entire thing here, too! mh777 said, July 08, 2013, 04:04:07 amWelp, here's my entry for the MUGEN Guild Stage Creation Competition of 2013!Long story time:Spoiler, click to toggle visibiltySo basically, I've had this idea floating around in various forms throughout the years: creating an original stage inspired by the many NES/Famicom bootleg fighters. I really love the aesthetics of those games, the backgrounds in particular, because of the limitations involved in technology. From that, I set about to creating a stage that could believably exist in an NES bootleg fighter. I went through a few concepts (such as a Canabalt-inspired city scene), but the idea of a dirt road overlooking a moonlit lake appealed more to me in the end. Also, that meant I had an excuse to steal a song title for the stage's name. :pLong story short: this is a labor of love created from scratch. No rips, just stuff created from hours of research and studying NES/Famicom bootlegs! Features:-A stage originally designed for 256x240 screens brought into a 320x240 world! (Meaning: it would have been wider on an NES screen, but it's not as wide on a MUGEN screen. See, totally conceptual. ;p )-Completely original graphics completely drawn by me! Completely.-Minor super-jump support!-Animations - blinking stars! The moonlight's reflection in the water!-No music! Because I can't think of a good song to include (that isn't Moonlight Drive by the Doors. Which would be completely inappropriate, anyways.).Anyhoo, here's the link for the stage: http://mugenorama.smeenet.org/stages/moondrive.zipEnjoy, and best of luck to the other participants in this year's competition!

I came up with something that should intrest you!Spoiler, click to toggle visibiltyIf I see another source conversion win this competition then this whole thing was pointless IMO....

-SyN- said, July 08, 2013, 03:58:53 pmIf I see another source conversion win this competition then this whole thing was pointless IMO....What's that supposed to mean? I put a lot a work into those source conversions.
How is it pointless? Is a good stage no longer a good stage because it comes from a game? If anything I see more people doing flashy original hi res stages these days.
a stage being hires or not, source or not isn't relevant: there is absolutely no way to say that one creation is easier or has taken less effort to do than that one...when it comes to something mugen related, all depends on the creator knowledge in coding and whatnot...someone making his first stage will obviously have way more difficulty achieving it than say a guy like Syn or Caddie, people who possess complete & in-depth understanding mugen wise, as well as a long ass track record of complex creations.bottom line, it's for fun & practice: we do not win anything (and we have already lost anyway lol)
It's disappointing to see more than one person drop out of the competition knowing the spots couldn't be filled after they drop, even though it's a bit late now, it would've been better planning ahead, there's a couple people that would've liked to enter earlier but couldn't due to full spots. :/Also, I don't think he was insulting the fact that source creations aren't as hard to make, but that they're less creative for the competition circumstance.
"Sh...t happens.... and then you die...."Well, I'm still here, but I haven't finished it yet... I just need to add some more stuff and it will be ready...But DAMN! this is one though competition.... O.O
-SyN- said, July 08, 2013, 03:58:53 pmIf I see another source conversion win this competition then this whole thing was pointless IMO....There are a whole bunch of variables to consider not just the aestheics. Caddies stage was source accurate and the coding was solid too. As opposed to other stages who may have been visually pleasing on the eye but littered with errors in the coding. When you add up the pros and cons of both caddie deserved to win.
Hey @EXShadow, just to be clear, i'm not quiting, and the people who disliked my opinion will have to deal with it.
