Skullgirls won't be the only all-female fighting game in town on XBLA it seems, as Microprose and Kung Fu Factory are developing Girl Fight, with "an array of sexy fighters" who must fight their way out of a dodgy scientific organisation known as 'The Foundation'.

The Foundation has been capturing women for their psionic abilities, plugging them into the mainframe to exploit them and weaponise their psionic powers. This hokum serves as the reason to unite the girls for a big fight, as they battle for survival.

Fighting Styles and Character Options: Players can select from a wide range of distinct fighters, each with their own fighting style. Players can even create their own experience by customizing their fighter’s appearance and abilities.

Unlockables and Customization: Players will find a robust set of unlockables to further customize their characters by proving themselves as the ultimate femme fatale in the ring. Points can unlock new character skins, more varied abilities and codex entries.

Arenas: Girl Fight takes the players all across a virtual globe in many different arenas, filled in by augmented reality constructs. From war-ravaged San Francisco to the rubble of demolished Foundry buildings, reality and fiction blur in the virtual arenas.

and will be coming to the Xbox Live Arcade and PSN in spring 2012.

They were publishers to many great 90s PC games (like Civilization II, the X-COM games, the good Master of Orions, etc), but I don't know if they developed anything. I thought Mircoprose died last decade, so I don't know if the news that they're still alive is good news or not.

Leg tattoo looks like a ugly covered up bruise.

I think she looks overdesigned, and while blatantly "sexy" she stil doesnt look as overdesigned as most of the skullgirl chars. Maybe its because the proportions means she ends up having more empty space on her body.

The biggest problem I'm seeing here with the Skullgirls and Girl Fight comparison is that Skullgirls is just very whimsical and imaginative. It's more "cute and pretty" than "hot and kinky."

Girl Fight, though, is more of a DoA with the loose ambition of Death Cargo in place of male characters and self-restraint.

I was thinking in that, various of you compared Skullgirls and even Dead or Alive or Rumble Roses, when Variable Geo series were one of the first all-female fighting games ever.

yeah the outfits seem relatively conservative compared to other fighting games, the promotional material (and the shitty name) makes this game look borderline pornographic when it actually looks kind of generic and not offensive

If you wanna be honest, most fighting games pretty much follows DoA's examples these days, except Tekken and Virtua Fighter...to an extent.

So if Girl Fight really does show off less skin overall, that's something.

Have you ever bothered to actually LOOK at the alternate female costumes? And it's pretty hard to compare breast sizes within different art styles, but considering that DOA's still tone theirs down and most of the SF ladies have big proportions...
Dude, that still doesn't disclude ANYTHING from SC. In fact, it's been doing WORSE than DOA has since atleast DOA didn't make the women wear riskier clothes and get insane proportions every other game.
KOF has NEVER been classy...Angel and Mai pretty much proves that.
Virtua Fighter has a customization mode with bikini possibilities, that alone is enough.
Skullgirls is full of panty shots and Blazblue is as fanservice as they come(on both sides, but that is beside the point).

Makoto and Mu are pretty tasteless especially Mu who is only covered by a thin crotch piece. I think SF, KOF and the others do a pretty good job of keeping it classy, KOF's worst offender is Mai who is nowhere near as exploited for promotional material as she used to be.

I saw the last promotion video released and the girls looks more clothed than the last previews, so i think the game goes for a good way.
