since I'm a big fan of 240x280 portraits I tried to create some myself. hope you like them 8)Chunli, Sakura, Akuma, Hsienko, YuriDownload
Did I start a trend here?? Not too bad. With indexing, you get lots of distortion on bold primary colors as evidenced in Sakura's neck and shoulders. There are also some unnecessary greys on Akuma's edges as well. Lastly, Yuri suffers from some colorloss. Careful on that so you avoid slopiness. Some edges could be a smidgen smoother, but otherwise, not bad. Thanks for the share!!
thanks for the feedback Sai . yeah, 'bout the colorloss: if you could give me any advices how to optimize/reduce it in general I would much appreciate it. I just didnt want to seperate each pic in several layers (which would be one possible way to reduce the colorloss I guess). by now I'm just switching between two, three preinstalled methods of colorreduction of my favourite grafical software, and thats all
No problem Gara. I'm glad to always leave constructive feedback.I'm constantly asked how to reduce colorloss. Regardless of what method or filter you use, eyeballing and clicking away by hand is the best way to go, making sure colors look smooth and even. I always edit after indexing as that had always been the best method for me. I also keep everything to one layer: there is less distortion due to simplicity on the image's behalf.

(and sorry for the late reply btw)ferretsshadow said, July 05, 2012, 03:49:37 amall of a sudden everyone started doing ity..yeah, if you call 4, 5 guys in the whole community everyone..however, here are some more pics, hope you enjoy :Athena, Hulk, Gouki, Geese, Ken, Evilryu, Kyo, NanayaDownload
Akura? Asuma? Either way, I like it. My only gripe is that the edges on Ken look a bit rough. But these are pretty cool.
yo thanks for the feedback guys TheShinHado said, July 28, 2012, 02:06:24 amThat's a nice Asura edit.totally agree, though I have to admit that it wasn't me who originally made that pic
I can tell your Hulk came from a low resolution source. All of those distinct sketch lines from MvC2's art are non-existent. It looks rough if not decent. Akuma is my favorite out of all of them. You did an OK job converting these, but your images are plagued with colorloss and rough looking edges. Whether you're spending a lot of time on these or not, watch out for those subtle deal breaking details. Thanks for sharing.
reviving this thread from the graveyard to post some more HR portraits for ya' Bulleta, Cactuar, Honda, Jill, Mr.X, Ryo, Ryu, Shredder, Snake,Super Buu, Vice, Haohmaru, Amingo, Aoko, Sub Zerohope you like 'em -> Download <-
Saikoro said, August 18, 2014, 03:55:20 amThat Sub-Zero looks very similar to the piece I included in my most recent release. oh wow, I honestly didn't notice that until just now quite the coincidence I have to admit, especially since it took me quite some time to clean that pic up. well I can assure you that this was not my intention. actually I made most of the pics (including Sub Zero) already weeks ago
Cool!! Good eye. While the framing is different, they really do look identical.Either way, solid presentation. Your colors look vibrant and clean overall.
