smash allows you to customize miis and every other character. this is done through items (randomly obtained). custom characters are usually banned in tournaments because the game already has 50+ characters and adding even more variables to those matchups is something most people don't want to deal with.

last year's evo had customizations enabled, but this year they're banned. miis are allowed with their supposed default moveset (1-1-1-1) but that could change.

i expect something similar to happen with this game if customizations are a thing (most people will be against them in tournament use)

they better not deal with alternate universe bullshit, shit got confusing in the first game so they better just have the entire story take place within earth V (thats what the regime earth is called) with ONLY residents in Earth V.

The problem was that the bulk of the plot's backstory was told in the comics and even that didn't make much sense especially in the current Year 5 arc.
