I want to return a variable from an enemy's helper, so I tried to do it with
Code:
trigger1 = enemy, helper(x), var(y) = z
However, this only leads to an error message at the start of the battle. Is it even possible to return this variable or do I have to create an own variable or helper for the player?

Recursive redirects are not suppose to be possible in mugen.(enemy,helper,ID)

Elecbyte's documentation said:
Note: recursive redirection (e.g., "root,target,time") is not supported.

If it’s meant for 1.0+ only then you could checkout this thread. http://mugenguild.com/forum/msg.2429963

I would only use that if there’s no other way around it or if it’s a full game honestly. If you have more info on what this code is for/how it’s used, there could be other ways around it that would make it still compatible with older mugen.

I use 1.1 only anyway, so that solved my problem. Thx
