I've tried everything to fix 1.0 becuase for some reason every time i download 1.0, It has no sound from the game at all. I can't seem to fix it at all either. I would always stick with win mugen but that crashes on my PC every 5 minutes when i'm not in watch mode.And before you tell me to download the latest version of 1.0, I have already done that. It doesn't help.

Are you sure you specified the correct path to the sound files? What sounds don't play? Stage music? Select screen music?

Give us a few more details.

No sound plays at all. I never messed with the sound options

Formatting your PC might do the trick. Sure, there could be an easier way, but formatting always helps.

Is the path to the sound files entered correctly? You can try testing the sound files in a blank copy of Mugen.

I remember this happening to me once, could never figure out the problem till I just changed the screenpack. For some reason once I changed it the sound started working again

I believe you clearly don't know shit about computers. This is obliviously a .DLL or driver problem. I was just trying to help, I'm not trying to trick him into deleting system32.

Formatting your PC will install a fresh copy of Windows, it solves most problems because you are reconstructing the system's files.

IF you can't fix it any other way, and you can do it yourself, it might do the trick.

The sound issue he has doesn't have anything to do with Windows' system files, otherwise it would affect something else in the system. If he had other sound issues, then he would have a reason for concern. This is just related to the engine. Nothing else.

Have it crossed your mind that MAYBE one of the .DLL's used by mugen is corrupted? If a fresh copy of 1.0 isn't working then it's probably more serious than a 'wrong path'.

He hasn't told us if it's working on a fresh copy of 1.0 or if it's a path issue. Why don't you wait a while before making silly assumptions?

No it won't bite. It will only erase your entire data, not solving anything and making you waste almost a day getting everything back up.

I tought he was joking but then he went serious... Anyway dont listen to this guy.

- Like said earlier try another screenpack, or just the default one, and tell us what it gives.
- Maybe that screenpack you are using has sound disabled by default ? Go to the options and take a look.
- If none of these works try opening Mugen and playing a music with your favorite media player at the same time -while you are on mugen, not on your desktop- and reply.

Altough you said your Winmugen crashes every 5 minutes.. well thats weird.

Did you try to update your video and sound cards drivers ?

Heres the error message i found in mugen.log:
"attempting load of sound/kfm.mid...Couldn't open BGM file sound/kfm.mid!
error 1!"
I don't know if this has to do with the kfm char or what but i'll try a new screenpack instead of formating my PC.And CL4P-GOH, i have fresh copies of mugen that weren't edited.
