Quote
At least 50 people died in a mass shooting that left more than 400 others wounded late Sunday at a music festival on the Las Vegas Strip.
Authorities swarmed the Strip near the Route 91 Harvest Festival before reporting Stephen Paddock killed himself on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel-casino across from the outdoor concert.
Paddock, 64, was identified as a local resident by Las Vegas authorities but records indicated that he had ties to North Texas and lived in Mesquite during the late 1990s and early 2000s.
His brother, who lives in Central Florida, told the Orlando Sentinel that he was "completely dumbfounded" by the shooting.
"We have absolutely no idea whatsoever," Eric Paddock, the brother, told the paper. "I can't imagine. When you guys find out why this happened, let us know. I have no idea whatsoever."
The Clark County sheriff called the Vegas attacker a "lone wolf." Paddock's roommate, Marilou Danley, was initially sought as a person of interest but authorities said Monday morning that they did not believe she was involved in the shooting. Danley and two vehicles connected to Paddock were found early Monday, authorities said.
'Like shooting fish in a barrel'
The shooting occurred on the final night of the three-day Route 91 Harvest Festival, which has been held for the last four years on a 15-acre lot.
Video posted on social media showed country artist Jason Aldean midsong at the open-air venue when bursts of automatic gunfire rang out. The shooting went on for about 10 seconds before the music stopped.
"I quite frankly was looking so forward to coming back here today and doing the show," country music artist Jake Owen, who was on stage with Aldean when the shooting began, told CNN.
Owen said the gunfire unfurled chaos at the venue, as bullets pierced trailers parked nearby and people scrambled for cover.
"It's like shooting fish in a barrel from where he [the gunman] was," Owen said. "I hate to use that sort of term." He added that gunfire from what sounded like automatic gunfire continued "nonstop" for around 10 minutes.
Concert-goers reported seeing muzzle flashes from the upper floors of the Mandalay Bay as hundreds of rounds of gunfire rained down on them.
The crowd of more than 22,000 appeared slow to move at first; then concertgoers began running and screaming. Another wave of gunshots followed. Aldean later told fans he and his crew were safe.
"I feel bad for these people," Owen said. "There are so many innocent people that were there to have a great time -- that's what we were there to do for them -- and they lost their lives."

Plenty of people don't wanna know the sick fuck's name.  Neither do I, really.  The fucker deserves no attention for this, just a nice ride on the electric chair.

I'm sorry it happened to so many innocent folks just wanting a good time, though.  I hope the ones who're hospitalized will make a speedy recovery, and sorry about the unfortunate happening concerning your GF's close friend as well, Memo.

A SWAT team is going to break down on Paddock's house. If he had any ties to extremist organizations or if he left behind a manifesto we should be hearing about it soon.

Kind of late to this one but there were no belt fed machineguns. Only AK style assault rifles that were used. Word is this guy was a gun runner. The reason ISIS claimed this as a victory was because supposedly 2 of their guys were meeting with this guy in Vegas to buy guns. Thing is ISIS has been planning an attack on the Vegas strip for a few years. So when they set up this trade they were actually planning to use the guns on the crowd below. They showed up, shot the guy, and then opened fire on the crowd. Experts say that there was definitely more then one shooter. No doubt. And the reason why the single shooter was pushed so hard was because members of the FBI were involved in this gun running scam. They got there and made it what they wanted it to be. This explains a lot. The white dude didn't own any personal weapons, his family said he didn't like guns at all, and nobody ever saw him at any gun ranges in any of the surrounding areas he stayed at. He doesn't fit the bill. But he had lots of money and spent lots of time in Vegas.

God Bless those who lost someone. I know I'm late but my prayers still go out to those people.
