considering that its two characters that only know punching i cant see that happening
i was right
Well....all opinions, of course, but watching it I found it more intense as they were both equally vulnerable to each other and lashing out at each other more realistically than the flash show Dante and Bayonetta had. So, I kinda see what they were going for.
They did impressive with what they got for sure, though. Neither character is deep or complex or anything, or with any sort of wide arsenal, so having it a slightly superpowered boxing match was pretty well done. I can't say I was super invested in either character, but I feel they could have done better in Balrog's character description compared to T.J.'s. They gave you both T.J.'s ups and downs in doing good in life, while Balrog was all bout the bad things he's done. I might not be a Street Figher expert to any extent, but come on, I remember the SFIV ending with him saving the kid.

Made it hard to be surprised when Balrog lost, being painted as the worse in character of the two and T.J.'s underdog status.

So...I can't say "did anyone ask for this", because I actually remember Shredder and Silver Samurai being a commonly requested match. Back when Goku vs Superman was still coming up. So it's been a while since anyone's cared I guess, but at least Shredder's finally showing.
Now, I bucked the trend and never really got into any of the TMNT shows playing, but I did enjoy the arcade game. I'm a little familiar with Shredder as a character. But Silver Samurai, he just wasn't a frequent character in the comics I read, and I think I only recall seeing him on t.v. once in a Spider-Man/X-Men crossover episode. And I didn't see the Wolverine movie with him. So I'm stuck mainly to wikis and sparse memories.
I'm left to guess at this point that Shredder's got it in the bag? It takes the four turtles to pose a threat to Shredder. Wolverine and Spider-Man make a fool out of Silver Samurai. Silver uses The Force/ki to turn his plain katana blade into a lightsaber. Shredder's already got one of those. Plus there's that buffed-up Super Shredder form, immune to physical attacks and throwing around lightning and such.
