So I'm waist deep in the development of Ruckus, and I am very, very happy with him so far. He is going to end up being one of my most well animated characters. I hope when he's released people will appreciate the work I've put into him, because he's definitely been labor intensive due to the amount of frames in his anims. To restate what was mentioned in the New Characters Thread. Ruckus is an NYC-based independent pro wrestler who wound up volunteering for the SHADEs Project. He emerged with eerily similar powers to Fray's, creating a mystery about how that may have happened. He has more control over his explosive powers and is more athletically gifted then Fray, so he relies much more on his fighting prowess and less on his powers, so he uses them in only a few moves. He also does not need special gloves to help him control his powers. He despises Fray for turning her back on the other subjects and siding with Moses Maddigan, so they are arch-rivals.Ruckus' fighting style is largely lucha-libre and American Indy pro-wrestling based. He has a lot of flashy moves and is very fast.As far as his anims go, I'm using a very diverse group of characters for references, as well as many animations done completely by me, which I'm very proud of. The characters being used so far are Ralf, Ramon, Kyo, Clark, Joe, and even Holhorse. Here are some preview animations:Walkin'.His run.6 standing standard attacks, plus his Back Elbow, which is B+HPHis step-up flippy deal. Here is what's done so far:All basic animations (stance, walk, jump, guard, etc.)All required sprites and gethit animationsAll of his standard attacks2 SpecialsThrowWhat's left:More SpecialsAll of his Supers3 Win Poses1 IntroTauntRuckus will get a release outside of SHADEs, before SHADEs 2 is finished since I'm so proud of the way he's turning out. That is why I posted this here instead of in the SHADEs section.Planned Specials:1. To The Five Boroughs (2T5B) - D,DF,F,P -Ruckus makes a mad dash towards his opponent.--No Sleep 'til Brooklyn - MP during 2T5B -Ruckus grabs his opponent, swings around them and puts them in a sleeper hold, before elbowing them down. --Staten Island Shuffle - No button press during 2T5B -Ruckus flips up and over his opponent, repositioning himself behind them an dgiving him a small window to attack.--Manhattan Destroyer - HP during 2T5B -Ruckus performs a twirling headscissors that transitions into a flipping piledriver.--Uptown Queens - HK during 2T5B -Ruckus uses his running momentum to propel him into a flying missile dropkick.--Downtown Queens - MK during 2T5B -The same as Uptown Queens, only it's a dropkick to the legs of his opponent and thus must be blocked low.--Bronx Bomber - MP during 2T5B -Ruckus performs a vicious low lariat/chop block that sends his opponent flipping up and forward.--Stop! - LK during 2T5B -Ruckus cancels his dash.2. Asai Moonsault/Asai DDT - F,DF,D,DB,B,K -Ruckus runs towards the edge of the screen and away from his opponent, then repels off the "wall" into a moonsault. If the first two frames with clsn1s connect, it turns into an Asai DDT. If not, it just strikes the opponent like a Moonsault.3. Blast Zone - D,DB,B,P -Ruckus claps his hands together and creates a low-range but powerful explosion that sends his opponent flying.PLANNED SUPERS:L1 - Fighting Spirit! - D,DF,F,D,DF,F,P -Ruckus performs several lightning fast chops to the chest of his opponent, before finishing them off with an explosive, spinning chop.L2 - Unnamed Super Blast Zone - D,DB,B,D,DB,B,P -Exactly what it sounds like.L3 - Sweet & Sour - F,DF,D,DB,B,2K -Ruckus calls in his tag-team partner, Donny Brooks. They then position their opponent in the center of the screen, before pointing and shouting "Sweet and Sour!" The duo then rushes the opponent from either side, and deliver simultaneous Low and High Lariats that do tremendous damage. This is is their patented double-team finisher in the ring.DM - Nothing yet.
Yeah, I mentioned in the first post that Ramon is a base for a lot of animations, but I'm rying to keep him from playing too much like him. I wanted to create a lucha guy, so he Ramon was obviously the first place I looked for animations to mimic.Although trust me, a lot of his moves that aren't finihed yet are very unique and don't use anyone's animations as reference.
Wow, you must a fan of the Beastie Boys to name one of Ruckus' Special moves after one of their songs.

Well that's a good thing honestly. But if you must know, the LK, MK, and MP are Kyo's, and nothing I've shown is Clark's. I included Clark just in case I use any of his as reference, but I may not end up using any.Un Renoi said, May 11, 2009, 06:02:43 pmJust dropped by to say FUCK YES!Spritage is looking mighty sexy. Keep it up Thanks man, I'm working hard on the sprites so I appreciate the praise.
Will he say Biba MechKyo too?Yeah, lots of Ramon in there. But I don't think you should use his CD (knockback attack, where he jumps in and does a kick) as his hard kick, since it is really slow, and will probably look weird if you make it faster.

Ruckus is supposed to be really wacky and fun. He doesn't take much seriously, aside from from his dislike for Fray and Maddicorp.
Thanks for the kind words. Here's the 12 palettes I've made for him:I can't wait until he's released so other people can make cool palettes for him.
