I'm a big fan of the original game, so this comes as a pleasant surprise. Your work is hella' good, and incredibly detailed for the size your working with.

Good job, A+.

You are one of the few guys I've seen that have sprited in this style very nicely. Good job.
The only nitpicks I have are:
- the swords are always rotated by 45° or 90°; (see Janemba)
- Gogeta throws the Stardust Breaker with that swing (JUS Vegetto's Spirit Sword), instead of a more accurate-to-the-movie arm movement.

I noticed that you also took some inspirations from the Z2 characters.

Thanks for the critique, and yeah the style has definitely come a long way since the chibi proportioned/lack of detail/flat and limited colored sprites so it's great to know that it is still out there.

I get quite alot of inspiration for my sheets because it keeps the style refreshed. You can probably notice the Z2 kick on the Super Vegeta or the flurry punch on the SSJ Goku. I specifically pick out trademark attacks that are unique to the character, as well as making some attacks of my own. Kind of like the Xenoverse gameplay where everyone has a unique moveset. This is what makes the style different from before, since the original ripped versions all had the same attacks.

Im trying portraits sized 120x140. Heres my take on SSGSS Goku and Golden Frieza.

I used poses from the 'Fukkatsu no F' movie as reference and took inspiration from DBZ-Supersonic Warriors character portraits.
There should be more to come, who would you like to see next?

Thanks! I resized the Goku and Vegeta sprites x2, so I figured they could use more detail with more space

depends on situation,if you draw it from %100 scratch its actually better than actual offical sprites,howewer if you draw extra stuff or edit already existing sprites,it looks kind of dull.The only thing I don't like about that style is how hair is drawn.There is also another style inspired from JUS called SPD which is way better actually.

I tried my own renditon of JUS aswel, around the time Extreme Butoden was released and DragonBall Z sprites skyrocketed in quality.

I think it came out pretty well, there's still much to be desired with this sprite style though in my opinion.

I guess i understand it, although its more or less a small improvement of the original sprites. Would be cooler if it was a bit more innovative, but that's just my opinion.

And yeah I try to mix the best of both worlds so it can appeal to both styles, since they are quite similar.

I always wondered something, it's something that bothers me a lot while watching these kind of spritesheets: why do you people keep adding the effects on top of the sprites? Can you also show the sprites without the effects?

The majority of FX are placed behind the sprite, and the ones that overlap only cover a small amount, so it does not remove the utility of the sprite. Its also important to mention that majority of the FX are mostly placed for display (with exception of aura), so thats why.
