All right, so I have a solution for these bumps. Why not just lock old topics?
Wait. I know what you're thinking. "Hey man, your last topic here was a month ago."
Well, I planned on typing this, but I kept putting it off, then it became embarrassing.
So there.
Also, why is the Introduction & Guides board the other Help board?

Old topics are kept open to facilitate returning users ability to revive their own topics, when you try to post on a really old thread it asks you if you are sure due to its age.

Anyone that still bumps it uselessly regardless simply cant read.

Why not just lock old topics?
this is a terrible idea. and bumping isn't that big of an issue. if it's an useful post then it can stay "bumped" without a problem. if it's something like HELP"$!=%!=%)! I CANT DOWNLOAD then the reply can be deleted. problem solved.

in addition, locking adds extra unnecessary workload that is circumvented if users are less stupid.

They say a little knowledge is a dangerous thing, but it's not one half so bad as a lot of ignorance.

Would help.

Edit: Now that I look at it again... "Unless you're sure you want to reply" doesn't really stop any noob from replying, they're always sure about bumping topics.
