- RIP Absalom, you lion-faced pervert.
With how much Oda usually hates permanently killing people off, and how much he loves bringing characters back after 400 chapters, it's
really surprising that he just unceremoniously killed Absalom off-panel like that.
- And speaking of off-panel, how in the hell is Oda going to leave the Reverie on a cliffhanger and then just have someone else casually mention what happened later without even showing it? Sabo and the Revolutionaries fought against Fujitora and Ryokugyu? Would've been nice to actually see that happen after all the buildup he gave it.
- Perona, Moria, and possibly Mihawk are on the move now. I wonder if any of them are actually going to make it to Wano or if that's setup for the next arc.
- We finally get a full look at post-timeskip Blackbeard and his bounty. I feel like this is Oda trying to remind everyone who the real threat in all of this is. Everyone's going nuts because Luffy's bounty went up to $1.5 billion, and then oh yeah by the way Teach is worth $2.3 billion nbd. His crew's getting a lot scarier, too. Not only did Shiryu take Abasalom's invisibility fruit, but now Devon has a mythical zoan.
- And of course, we get introduced to the other 2 calamities on Kaido's crew by having them talk down to Jack like a weak, bumbling little brother. A little bit tropey, but again it seems like this whole chapter is about highlighting how high the stakes are getting.
