(I was 0% yesterday.)
-I'm still making her normal stance. Her pose looks awkward but it's meant to be kinky a bit. (even the preview stance is not yet it's only half I think?)
-I've already downloaded Fighter Factory but I don't know how to start using the program. I got gifs here. Do I have to save them as .pcx?

hmmm, well, there's a lot more to mugen then just the sprites...to me, that's the easiest part:)
the programming is pretty crazy.
but, as i see it, you dont need pcx for the sprites, you just need to upload them to fighter factory, and then you convert it to pcx after.
p.s is this some sort of twist on cat woman??
any idea for moves on this one?

If you need help on coding. Try and check out these tutorials, http://www.mugenguild.net/~cyanide/ . Might not help you much, but they're pretty basic from what i heard.

fighter factory requires 256 color pcx files.  its everywhere in every tutorial ever made even the one BK pointed at as well as the docs folder.

maybe an edit of Elizabeth would be better to get a quicker sprite start?  she has a riding crop...and has that whole i'm british therefore i own everyone type of thing.

any ideas on movesets voices?  anything that will help us get a better feel for the character as of now it's just half an anim.

do you own either paint shop pro or adobe photoshop?
and yes, i forgot about fighter factory needing pcx,
although, does it convert automatically to index colour?
i usually just use MCM, which takes HOURS!!!!

the only gripe i have on her design is that her feet are too small.

about her animation, her pose looks completely off balanced, if she is supossed to be standing in one foot, it should not be twisting, if not, the leg that is in front should look bigger than the one in the back, though having them with the same lenght is more standar.

but still, the sprite quality is pretty good, in your situation i should not worry aobut coding, as good quality sprites can easily get coders.

well, she has a weird fighting stance I know, and someone said that her feet is small, well, it's small, and she's also wearing super high heels. if you ever watched the video "wait a minute" by the pussycat dolls featuring timbaland, then you'll see the inspiration for her.

I'm still thinking about the stance, I plan to add more frames, Is there a limit to how many frames are available in the normal stance?

if you use the same anim group for all frames  the limit is 65536, if you use every possible sprite it is 281470681743360; so NO is a good answer :P

What are you planning on for her gameplay?
And would you be interested in a team up perhaps? (This of course meaning you sprite, I put together character the way you want it)

(Very minor note, her head does seem a tiny bit too large)

hmm.. at the moment I am quite tired of sprite making, so I'll just draw her portrait. I don't know what is the right size but I'll just make a big one. and crop it to the right size.

Her gameplay? Think of a very flexible and fast assassin. Some chains and followups.

Not enough "umph" for a fireball. There should be more movement in her lower part of the body. Overall quality is great though. Good luck with your project.

Why would a shifty rogue-type character have projectiles?
i think we should call it an "engine" so we don't look like total idiots because otherwise we'd be arguing about a "game" and that would be somehow "dumber" than arguing about an "engine" on the "internet" for countless hours

maybe its some kind of a mistress mindfuck move to play with their heads...what exactly is mistressy about this character besides hose and black top?

it seems interesting probably because of the risque (sp?) nature of the character and I'm still kinda old guild as far as the WIP section goes so do you have anything worked out in your mind at all as to how you want her to play?

Well, my plan is just to make many moves. this one might be a leader or something, or it could just be an invisible ki or something like Takuma's or I don't know, we'll see.

here's an idea, inspired by my friend's halloween costume:

you could give her a super hyper, where she gets six black wings(saw those sprites on some char, im sure the maker would let you use them), and does some sort of ultimate move...
just an idea:D

forgot to mention!
if you want to make her shoot,
you can use heart sprites and maker her shoot hearts at the opponent,
and use it as a stun
i got the idea from this strange little anime char that would change into an almost naked girl
and then shoot out hearts, and stun the opponent.

It looks good. My critics would be that she has the legs too tight together. And too much crossed. It's obvious she's not relaxed.
Also - she looks a bit thin. Especially her arms. Nice animation though. Also - her legs are unproportionally large compared to her body.

Hi there, it's been a while,
I have done the crouch and the standing guard sprites
I still have to work on the crouch guard.

Anyway, just a question:
I save my files in .psd (photoshop format) then I test them and save each frame as a .gif file

Do I have to convert all of them to .pcx?? then what'll i do next? this is my first time to make a sprite.

From an animator's point of view, you need to make her move a bit more "fluid". She's a bit stiff, and her forward walk doesn't have enough frames (use a reference to help out) other than this, her sprites are great!

Is she mostly going to be doing martial arts and magic? Perhaps go with the mistress theme and give her some whips/chains/paddles for weapons.

Oh, and eventually you're probably going to want to add some anti-Slime/Kuromaru code into her def too. :p

Slime and Kuromaru are two ultra-pervert characters in Mugen. Both of them have throws in which they literally rape your character with tentacles and other such things.

They can be programmed to send certain characters (usually sexy female characters like Mai and Morrigan) into special states to make their moves look even more nasty. I'm not going to link to anything, but you can find vids of these guys on Youtube.

If you don't want your character to be compatible with these characters, then you can add a special code that prevents them from using their moves, or at least punishes them for it.

For instance, I'm going to be adding code to my WIP character that causes him to run a 1-hit KO attack whenever Slime or Kuromaru comes within a certain distance of him.

It's just an idea, but don't worry about any of that stuff at the moment, it's not necessary for the development of the character.

OK, now firstly you need to convert all your sprites into PCX form. There's a tutorial on how to do this somewhere in the help forum, as well as a guide to photoshop batch processes. What program are you using to create the sprites?

Once you have the PCX files, open them in Fighter Factory or whatever you're using. From there on, you can start making your character.

what you could do is, as a special intro, you could have her beat up one of them in front of the other,
i.e slime getting bashed in front of kuromaru, kuromaru getting pushed into a hole or something to that effect, you know?

p.s what's the anti slime code, and how do you use it? can you stick it anywhere in the cmd?

No I haven't worked on the code yet, but I'd imagine it would be pretty simple. Just have the trigger for the statedef be something that identifies player 2 as Slime, and then brings the character into the anti-slime state.

For my character, once Slime gets within X distance of him, every one of his helpers will open fire with machine guns that have a full-screen unblockable hitbox that deals 9999 damage per shot.

Thank you all for the comments, anyway, I haven't done anything since the crouch and stand guard, I got sick. But, I'm working on it.

To be honest, FOR NOW.. I just like her to have a basic short 3-4 hit combo some short projectile and some shoryuken aka street fighter moves just keep it simple then I'll make new moves as she updates.

CONS for now:
-her back animation and her forward animation is the same cause I still don't know which will go with which.
- I don't know how to make an ouch move. Or how will she trip if someone kicks her low.

I'll still be making her crouch guard, and the rest
(I really think the second gif I showed (the projectiley one should be a grab) or something.

Anyway, I'll jsut keep you updated. I'm still thinking about recoloring her eyes for palette purposes.

I'd say the simplest anti - xxx code is to give your character a 1-hit KO move that activates as soon as the fight starts, but of course it's only triggered if the opponent is a specified character.

As for Andrea's tripping animation. If you can't figure it out on your own, use another character for reference. You could even use a similar pose to Kung-fu man.

though definitely worth it:)
although, i must admit, whoever programmed slime/kuromaru are definitely experts
by the way ami7mina, when the sprites are done, you can edit them onto KFM using Fighter Factory and/or MCM, so you can get a feeling for the codes, and then make your own files after:)

Very impressive! Not bad for a first time I must say!

And yeah, I wouldn't worry too much about some coding (like the anti-Slime/Kuromaru codes) until later on down the road, if you decide to put them in.

Good luck with her! She looks promising!
