So after talking with the dev team and a few testers & people who regularly play the game, I've decided to come to the following decision regarding the direction that Gensokyo Reloaded will be taking.

Version 2.6.0 will be the final major update to the game. This update will finally revamp the presentation of the game's screenpack which we feel is long overdue, and will also be the update that adds Meimu as both a playable character and the final boss, so we felt it was only appropriate to end the game on that note. Updates to the game will still be done as needed to fix balance issues and other bugs that pop up, but there will be no more updates that will add any new characters and/or new mechanics; considering that the game just only recently received a major mechanic overhaul with the addition of Guard Cancel Counters, we felt that anything else would only end up making the game unrecognizable.

A few of us did have certain ideas in mind before coming to this decision (including the decision to add Tewi to the roster), but we decided that these ideas were better off being implemented in a new game entirely. Over the past year I've been planning mechanics and roster for a prequel to Gensokyo Reloaded titled "Touhou: Incident Zero", which you can read about here. We agreed that implementing these new ideas into Incident Zero would be a better decision in the long run.

So long story short:

Q: Will Meimu be the final character added to Gensokyo Reloaded's roster?
A: Yes.

Q: What about Tewi Inaba? Wasn't she going to be added to the game?
A: Tewi will instead be part of Incident Zero's roster.

Q: Will there be any other future updates to Gensokyo Reloaded?
A: The only updates planned will be to rebalance existing characters and/or iron out specific bugs.

Q: Is the entirety of Gensokyo Reloaded's roster going to make a return in Incident Zero?
A: So far only 12 characters are planned to return in Incident Zero, with five of them receiving significant changes to reflect changes that were made to them in recent games (namely Reimu, Marisa, Reisen, and Yukari) or to take advantage of the game's new mechanics (Hong Meiling). The remaining characters may eventually be added to the game in the future, but only time will tell.

Q: Are any new characters planned for Incident Zero?
A: So far there will be approximately 10 new characters, including Tewi.
