When use radial blur, I set it at zoom and put it at the end at the fx or at the start (usualy end though).

i tried it, and this is my result... can you tell me what i'm doing wrong Anjel? or POTS?

For that Cammy example I place the blur's center at the point where all those lines converge, i.e. right tip. That's the general rule for radial blurs.

i have hi-resed up my "god rugal", all fx look great with pots tutorial, except the 1 above.
somebody has a clue how this "god rugal" effect could be nicely hi-resed!?
Could use motion blur or wind distortion, in the same direction as the column. Could also keep the skull in a separate layer so it doesn't lose much sharpness.

hey pots i have a question.
Btw I think that for that beam you should use more "protect center", so that the black doesn't mix with the left tip. It'll also look better in Mugen if you make the original image a bit brighter before editing.

woot woot! i didnt work on the beam, but i did redo the cammy one using the protect center option/tip that you gave me. this is my result. its ALOT closer to yours, not perfect but its a great start. thanks for the awesome tutorial.

I just have two quick questions, because I suck :P:

One last note, to have the effect's colors able to fit in the char's main palette (so effects vary with each palette), just convert the image to the ammount of colors you want in step 6 (I usually go with 64).
How do you manage to do this? What option or...stuff?

Let's say I want to edit a lavander effect. Now, how could I set the colors of the energy/fire/etc back to its original lavender color? By guessing and playing around with the Color Adjustment, or there's a secure method?

Nice.

I have a 64 colors greyscale palette that I apply to it. You can either do that or use the color reduction method that lets you select how many colors you want (though that often ends up as 32).

Yeah playing around with Color Balance, you'll get the hang of it.

Why the fudge did you double post?

I think he means instead of making the fx 256 colors, make it less, so you can add the colors into your chars palette.

Ammount of white seems ok to me. The lost detail on the right is because the center of the blur is misplaced, but as you noticed with PS you're pretty much blind when changing that setting (PSP lets you pick the center right from the image).

i just couldn't get the zoom cursor right where i wanted it too be
the purple on the right therefore is pretty ugly

another question though
how do you work with images already cropped?

I just extend the canvas ("Add Borders" in PSP).

If you extend the canvas on the left by say, 50, just add 50 to the original X position as well. Same for the top and Y axis. Right and bottom make no difference.
