Very new creator asking for advice

Hello, everyone. I've been playing MUGEN for a while now, but I've only recently been considering making content for the game. More specifically, I want to make characters, and this is where my question arises. See, I want to make a fighting game that features people I know in real life, and I was considering using photos to create sprites. However, I know practically zero about creating MUGEN characters, so I guess what I'm asking is... is this feasible? Assuming you have enough pictures (which I assume is a lot) and you can use Photoshop to the necessary extent as well as all the other MUGEN tools like Fighter Factory, is creating a character composed of photos actually feasible or does it just not work?

Yes, there are some characters out there made from live footage, like in the MK series.
The main problem is tgat usually these captured frames are not enough for a smooth animation, resulting in few frames and choppy movements. Also, it is harder to keep a consistent quality (lightning, camera angle, background removal and cleaning...) during the character capturing, hence why usually it's easier to just draw sprites

You're probably looking at around 600 pictures to have an OK character. There are creators on the forum who are making characters from pictures, but it's few and far between.
My suggestion, if you're actually going to attempt this, is get a green screen and a video camera with a slow motion option.

I'm with XGargoyle though. You should probably just draw them. Take photos of their face(s) as reference materials but I'd draw them. Plus trying to get people to do the poses for multiple hours will be tougher than everything else :P
