Dude, that looks amazing! The only thing is, I'm wondering if the belt "jumping" should happen slightly earlier in synch with the inhaling? Not sure if that made sense.
Keep up the good work man.

I think it looks great, though the 3D bit of it is still mind-boggling I actually think it looks better in that way.

It looks highly impressive, three things though:

1. The bouncing of the shadows on the shirt at the midriff looks unnatural. On Ryu, who i assume was your reference, the shading jumped because of his bouncing motion, but here Strider just kind of twists and straightens up a bit. It feels like a tad too much. Perhaps just do one slightly less dramatic bounce, or make his shirt billow more rather than bounce, leading to my next point...

2. I feel like more could be done with pants shading perhaps. The billowing scarf makes it feel like rather than just having the pants wave slightly, you could do a more noticable ripple passing from the artist's right to left.

3. The handle of the second hidden sword on the back seems to desync a bit with the motion of the body. Perhaps make it return the same way to original position in the same manner in which it was displaced?

Thats all for me, everything else is lovely.

Maybe moving the ear more could help? Also widening the face when facing forward maybe one more pixel?

As you guys all know, I fail at shading... in an effort to change that, I tried giving this a shot... at some point I sort of started winging the whole thing and just decided to post it and get it over with... hope you like! :P

C&C welcome!! In fact, if someone would have the decency of teaching me how to shade, I'd be eternally grateful! :D

It's a modified version of the SVC sprites, in case that wasn't obvious to everyone.

In comparison to Ryu, you Sagat looks incomplete.

Can you be more specific? Is it the legs? I thought the legs lacked some shadow in comparison to the torso, but then again, the light comes from above, so they're more exposed.

It's getting there. The brightest color could stand to be a bit brighter(just a tiny bit), and I think that there could stand to be a color between the bright shade on the thigh and the dark one to help with the blend because it seems very instant. I really like the shading on the shorts btw.

I just noticed I forgot an entire shade in the legs, which is kind of why they looked off. Decided to recolor them from scratch and also increased the brightness of the lightest shade. Let me know if this is better.

Sagat looks hungry.

Also the leg in the foreground is. . . .well weird and messed up. The lines shouldn't run all the way down his leg in the front.

For the leg lines, I sort of used Urien as an example (and by association, Gill):

Maybe I'm using too many colors in general?

It's because there isn't a break in the lines. Looks like he doesn't have a knee.

The lines look like fresh stretch-marks, might want to lighten 'em up

Not so much a case too many colors, but how the colors are used; you seem to rely heavily on the darkest possible tone you have for your linework, which makes it stick out like a sore thumb compared to the rest of the sprite. It actually looks more incomplete as a result. You need to take advantage of the transition colors you have present to soften the lines more, which will in turn give the sprite a more polished look. I'd also suggest removing the highlight on the shorts; gives it an odd glossy satin look which wouldn't make much sense.

Basically all this. He begins fine at the shoulders then BOOM.
